No tv reception in my apartment. Have missed all bar one race this season. :( Being on pole in Monaco is ideal. 8 of the last 9 winners have started on Pole. It's Mark's best chance to get away with a win. EDIT: Then I looked at the qualifications again and saw Hamilton's starting behind him. Bye mark. Edited by afromanGT: 27/5/2012 10:30:32 PM

Rosberg's all over Webber's tail. 9 more laps he has to hold on.

The front 6 drivers are all on the same straight running into Mirabeau. That hasn't happened this late in a race in a long time. Webber appears to be struggling for pace too, trying to conserve tyres?
Button just ploughed into the back of Kovalainen too  Vergne was just desperate for gas I think. Blew it hard.

Webber takes it out just ahead of Rosberg and Alonso to become the 6th different winner in 6 rounds this season.
The other talking point of the day has to be the nightmare for McLaren with Hamilton 5th and Button DNF.

Fantastic Drive for Webber. His tyres started to go with about 10 laps to go, but held on beautifully to deny Webber and the train of cars behind him. Was leading them all on a merry dance around the circuit, but he drove beautifully and never have Rosberg a sniff at an overtake. It was a strange race. The weather set it up beautifully. The constant threat of rain, but the not knowing of when it was going to hit really fucked up some Drivers. Jean Eric-Vergne wasn't it who was the only driver who gave in to the threat and put on a set of inters, only for the rain not really to hit and he ended up losing about 6 places. Feel sorry for him, I think he'd have finished about 8th or 9th if he'd stayed in the race, he was driving quite well. Perez had an absoloute shocker of a race. Feel sorry for Schumacher, too - he's had a bummer of a weekend, and was looking like he'd have an OK race, only for his car to let him down yet again. It's only R6, but it's already obvious that Petrov made the wrong move by moving teams. He's had a horrid season thus far.

Yeah I don't think Petrov would've decided Caterham was a better career move than staying at Lotus..
Tense race, I don't really get what the difference was between the soft and super-soft, apart from maybe a little extra life - nobody seemed to set the world alight with them on.
Congrats to Mark though, got a good start and avoided all the garbage at turn 1. Very interesting setup with the championship now.

Webber was just lucky his tyres died on a circuit like Monaco where there's so few overtaking chances. Any other track and he'd have finished 4th or 5th.

Watched the last quarter of the race through my eyelids again. Woke up just in time to see Webber cross the line. Rain would have made it more fun, but probably would have handed it to Vettel.

Thought I ressurect this seeing as there is now just one race to go. Vettel leads Alonso by 13 going to Brazil. Nice change of pace having the racing in the early morning, but I missed the end cause IO had to leave for work. Poor Webber, having his Red Bull fail on him yet again. Just goes to show what a lucky sonofabitch Vettel is. He'd be nowhere if he had a failure rate any near Webbers.

This season Vettel's had 2 DNF's, Webber has had 3. They had one each in the 2011 season. Vettel had three in 2010, Webber had 2. Vettel had five in 2009, Webber had 2. So since they've been teammates, Vettel has had more DNF's than Webber. So that's absolute horse shit.

I'm sick of hearing this 'woe be to Webber' stuff from F1 fans. Vettel's a younger, better driver. Therefore he's going to get better equipment. But when it comes to equipment failing when it's something like a gearbox, that's down to the engineers using the wrong ratios, etc. Not down to RBR favouring one driver over another.

Can't believe it's nearly the end of the season, flown past. Literally. With Uni and work, I've barely watched a race. Next season.

Yeah, and from memory Vettel was pushing for a podium while webber was stuck in traffic mid-field. It might suck for all you bleeding heart webber fans, but it's a good team decision.

Allowed me to concentrate on uni more without too many distractions. Should start getting myself banned for a couple months in the last 6 weeks of Uni more often.

Actually, Mark had the experimental front wing and was much faster in practice. So they took the wing off and gave it to Vettel. These are the same people who whinge and moan at Ferrari's 'team tactics'. You're right, it was a good team decision, but you can't then say that Red Bull don't favour one driver over the other.

ALL TEAMS favour one driver over another. That's motorsport. If you don't like it, go follow golf.
