Why the fuck is TSF going "come on McLaren" about something that happened last season? jlm8695 wrote:afromanGT wrote:multi million dollar state-of-the-art technology...and they're sweeping the tracks dry with brooms #-o
Just put them out there on wet tyres FFS. Dont you have to start on the tyres you use in Q1? Cant see teams willing to gamble on that so quickly. Been out of the F1 rule loop for a while, so much has changed in the past few years   They can go in reverse now? Yeah, you can go in reverse as long as you're in a dangerous position on the track. You do have to start on the same tyre you used in qualification, but if the whole grid are in the same boat then it doesn't make a difference. Cars going off everywhere. Probably the most exciting qualification we've had for a long time.

It's bucketing down already. I live about 2-3km from the track and it's absolutely bucketing down.
They're going to have to change to full wets.

Fuck me dead. Arguing with Viper is more of a challenge than this tit.
Q2 and Q3 rescheduled for early tomorrow morning. That'll make things very interesting if a car goes off. Feel sorry for the fans too.

An over steer on the 3rd last corner costs Webber pole. Sill a Red Bull 1-2 on the grid.

Right so Qualifying went like this. No surprises really to see a Red Bull 1 & 2 on the pole, but we all know that Hamilton and Masa would have gone back into the pits smiling knowing Webber was ahead of them, so as far as they were concerned, they were 2 & 3 respectively. Kimi Raikkonen who did actually win went and qualified 7th. As a Jenson Button & McLaren fan, I was disappointed to see them qualify so poorly. Can't see Button being happy with qualifying 9th, and not the best start for his career with McLaren with Perez qualifying behind Ricciardo in 15. THE RACE Great to see Kimi Raikkonen back in F1. He had an excellent race I thought. Drove very well, and extremely tidy. Red Bull had a shocker I thought, well of the pace both Webber but most certainly Vettel. Webber predictively had a shocker of a start - does he simply forget to put the car in gear or something? Heard a funny rumour at work from a patron who reckoned that the reason his starts are so poor is so Red Bull can give Vettel the most advantage off the life. Adrian Sutil might be kicking himself and his teams tyre strategy. He led the race on a couple of occasions. Good to see Sutil back too. I initially thought Force India were going to be one of those teams that are there just to make up the numbers, but most raced they really do put in a good performance. Sutils tyres were fucked in the last 15 laps, hence why he dropped down, but at one point he was a contender for a podium finish. Good to see Vettel not win, mind you - he didn't win Melbourne last year and look what happened. Malaysia is next week. Always a good race on one of my favorite tracks. Hopefully Webber can pull off another amazing comeback like he did in the final few laps last year at Malaysia. He was simply superb to watch. Edited by Heineken: 17/3/2013 09:16:37 PM

Webber prefers his gear ratio to favour 3rd and 4th gears so that he has faster corner speed through the race rather than off the line. It's probably the better call in the long run. Good to see Kimi win too.

Good to see Kimi win too. I don't buy into conspiracy theories, but it the number of times Webber has total KERS failures gets suspicious!! Yet another race (half race?) without KERS for him. As I say, I don't buy its deliberate though, as even though the head of Red Bull wants him out, the F1 team boss and Webber apparently get on well (I think he and Horner run the Arden GP3 team together. Raikonnen did brilliantly to manage his tires on a two stop strategy and stay on pace.

No, the idea that Red Bull actually sabotage Webber is absurd.

F*ckin' bull$hit Melbourne weather! Come back from the F1 with a stupid Victorian flu. My mate reckons they hadn't seen rain in 6 months till Saturday. One minute it was hot and clear and in literally 5 mins tops the clouds came over and is pissed down. Sunday was clear but blowing a gale, first time I've ever been to an F1 race in jeans and a hoodie, and I was still cold. No wonder I hate Melbourne. /rant.

Absolutely pathetic Ross Brawn. Feel so sorry for Rosberg.
Also pretty shifty racing from Vettel to get past Mark.
But how about that, Mark gets a good start and finds himself on the podium. Shock horror.

Webber filthy with Vettel behind the scenes, now that is good television. Hamilton also far from happy with him. Looking forward to the post race interviews!

Webber claiming Seb was told not to attack. Broke team orders.
Dog if true!
Hamilton also fairly honest, claiming Rosberg should be there instead of him.
