500,000 people in the two regions. Wollongong is a traditional footballing area with a rich football history. Sutherland Shire has the most registered players in NSW. 1 Game in Wollongong, and 1 Game in Cronulla. Easily 20,000 average, and Cronulla to Wollongong is not far for fans to travel living in either region. Could not agree with you more. Although I'd say a fair chunk of SFC supporters are from this area, so if you remove that demographic from the SFC fanbase, their crowd numbers would really struggle. I'd have no issue with that. The only issue is Shark Park is poorly positioned for public transport, and from Wollongong to Woolooware is 2hrs on the train and bus. The FFA wouldn't have any part of that though: none if this joint bid tripe.

The only NSWPL club that will get admitted (in part) to the HAL is South Coast. What awaits to be seen is, if they are admitted to the top league, what happens to their NSWPL team/youth setup?

Im pretty sure it'd be pretty difficult for any community team to join the a-league. One of the conditions is to give the FFA your naming rights... would kill off the club

1) South Coast Wolves - the have the whole Illawarra Catchment area, rich in football history, two times National Football League champions, they do not have any assets apart from community spirit. WIN Stadium fits the bill and many ex-soceroos hail form the area. Not good stadium Deal
YES
2) Marconi Stallions - South West Sydney, very very rich in football history, 3 times national football league champions, have the knowledge, the history, the money from the social club which is a gem of social clubs in the south west, they have the perfect size facilities what more do you want? Great Stadium Deal
YES:IF Move to C'town and merge with the rams
3) Sydney Olympic FC - St George,Canterbury Bankstown Areas, have a large large supportter base, have a great facility in Belmore Sports Ground, two time national football legaue champions, have always been one of the best in the country in terms of sponsorship, would make a great rivalry with Sydney FC and would bring derbies into the Sydney A-League system. Great Stadium Deal
No - Greek Origins turns off FYROM's, Turks, Lebs
4) Canberra - UNKNOWN Quantity, failed in the NSL with a community team the ethnic card cannot be blammed on this one, however its a decent sized city, seem to be able to get govt backing, has a good sized stadium the stadium deal is unknown to us, not sure about the qualities of this one. Belconnen:Yes CFC:No
5) Blacktown City Demons, have NSL experiance, a club with a long history, there facility is something with some work could be ok, a north/west sydney team might work, strong rugby league territory but we either go had or die trying
-YES:Move to Doonside/Rooty hill or CUA
6) Sydney United FC, South West Sydney side, large history, top failities what more do you want? great stadium deal, experiance. NO - turns off Serbs

Wollongong annd Canberra are obviously still potential areas for A-League expansion whilst the FFA obviously appear still keen to get the Rovers up and running in Western Sydney.
