I can not beleive the macarthur rams even got a mention in the thread, the rams and a-league should not even be in the same conversation if thats the case why not start running of more terrible teams, like the Camden Tigers or Eschol Park Wolves? a Marconi and Rams merged team in the a-league would flop faster than the Fury.

NEVER put down the mighty Eschol Park Wolves!

I played for the Eschol park wolves as a junior. Could you imagine having them associated with the a-league Claymore would turn it into green street hooligans

Haha same as me. Claymore having a team.... jesus christ

Wait, Didn't the Rams get relegated from the Premier League, then fold cause of financial trouble, or was that Penrith..:-k

its was nepean thanks to joe meisner.....

and of course penrith went along because the fuckwits at FNSW made them merge......penrith were 10 times better than nepean, now the west has no super or premier league clubs

The only NSWPL club that will get admitted (in part) to the HAL is South Coast. What awaits to be seen is, if they are admitted to the top league, what happens to their NSWPL team/youth setup?

I don't understand why the Sutherland Shire is overlooked as a footballing area so much.

Exactly the question I ask. Everyone talks about the Gong and Illawara regions, but not the Shire.

A Sutherland-Illawara Club would be huge.

500,000 people in the two regions. Wollongong is a traditional footballing area with a rich football history. Sutherland Shire has the most registered players in NSW. 1 Game in Wollongong, and 1 Game in Cronulla. Easily 20,000 average, and Cronulla to Wollongong is not far for fans to travel living in either region.

Could not agree with you more. Although I'd say a fair chunk of SFC supporters are from this area, so if you remove that demographic from the SFC fanbase, their crowd numbers would really struggle.

But I dont' give a shit 'bout SFC though

Would anyone be able to quantify this?

What's the Shark's youth and reserve, etc. setup like?

This thread might have been useful after all!

I'd have no issue with that.
The only issue is Shark Park is poorly positioned for public transport, and from Wollongong to Woolooware is 2hrs on the train and bus.
The FFA wouldn't have any part of that though: none if this joint bid tripe.
