Potential plus for Maher - he did play a season with Holman at AZ. He should put a call in.

Does anyone know what is actually wrong with Holman ? He has been injured since last season hasn't he ?..and what was Deveres injury ? He seems to have been out an extraordinary length of time as well...

+x+xNew kits I'd assume? And going off the graphic, a return to black and orange thank god. 1957 Brisbane Hollandia NCIP being torn up will allow Franchises to pretend to be real clubs ha ! that would be interesting as I am sure Lions FC may lay claim to the Hollandia 1957 connection before the Roar do..

@ miron Mercedes
Roar have no choice but to claim the Lions and then Holandia link. That is their history and just like a divorce, you can’t change it lol.
One of the pleasing things over the past 18 months has been Roar building bridges back with Lions. The animosity between the two clubs was severe immediately after the split and hurts both sides
When were Roar founded? 2003 in the club rooms of Lions FC, where do they trace their heritage back to? 1957 ... and don’t you ever forget it Nirwan !!

Seems Maher is training at AZ to stay fit but with a potential view to being signed by them? Google translate is a bit unclear. http://www.elfvoetbal.nl/Binnenland/273252/De-tot-nu-toe-opmerkelijke-comeback-van-Adam-Maher-bij-AZ

+xDon't shit all over my dreams maxxie Actually just sounds like he's training and played a game with the reserves while he waits for a gig. We should try and be that gig! Our pitch should be: Come be a star player in our league where there is little public pressure (have Broich get in touch), the place is unreal to be and the coach is a top bloke (Holman), you'll be our marquee so we can offer you some decent coin (Pedj) and if you can dominate our league there is definitely the potential to step up in Europe like Mooy/Rogic/Arzani or make bulk cash on China.

I don't get it...why would a 25 year old Dutch national team player not be able to get a gig in Europe at a good club ? I know a lot of this is a bit tongue in cheek but surely he isn't even a remote possibility ...let alone a chance...

Either way, this signing has been a loooooooong process. I'm worried about Visa issues and JA blaming their lack of preseason on the whole teams poor performances. I'd like to have whoever we sign locked up and coming to Qld by next weekend.

A couple of other things from yesterday’s open session; due to wet weather, the last round of miniroos and finals football it was only attended by about 200-250 people (the last one - also in wet weather - drew 800).
It was great to see the players in a proper football training environment, Logan is the goods 👍 it’s always hard to judge how fit players are in training but they did look good, only DeVere looked a little slow but he’s only just back from injury but still participated in the full session.
Mikkelsen looks class, hopefully we’ve got a good one there - he’s fit, fast and very competitive and looked really good in the game. Bautheac just looks like a man on a mission, be interesting to see what he does this season.
Ricky has dropped a lot of weight from the end of last season.
Avraam trained separately but afterwards JA said he would get at least a couple of pre-season games in and would be fit for R1.
It was noticeable just how many coaches Roar have got. The session was set up across the entire full sized football pitch and broken down into training “pods” and there seemed to be a coach at most stations. Easily ten coaches out there.
JA was also asked outright about new signings and in particular if we were interested in Tommy Oar to which his response was “definitely not”
Asked again about new signings and he said words to the effect “hopefully we’ll be announcing the final signing very shortly”
A nice touch occurred afterwards when the players had all left and most fans departed, I was still there packing up the RSF stuff and taking it back outside the gate to go in someone’s SUV when a team wandered over from one of the three Football Brisbane pitches where they’d been playing finals football (I think they were U12 or 13).
They’d lost their game in a tight match and were pretty glum and were looking through the gates at an empty training field and the only remnants of the morning were tired and very wet supporters packing their merchandise away ... anyway, the gates in/out are right next to the players lounge who seemed to notice the glum kids and came out and did half n hour selfies and photos and really cheered the kids up

Have you seen a sneak peek Waz? The pic of the shirt/HAL logo still has white sleeves 😅 I hope we have an all black strip like Newcastle United has last season as an alternate! Also wish the maroon/Roma style kit was our standard away kit next season. Black on Black for Adelaide, CCM, City games.

@BrissyRoo
The sleeves are white, but I think they’ve included that and a few other pieces of merch with white to emphasise we’ll be ditching white for the majority and going back to black.
We all know it’ll be a kit change but it means everyone is guessing and it’s keeping people interested.
Kudos to the club for listening to the fans. Clearly white was a fail and I don’t think they’ll be doing that again for a while.
Hopefully we’ll get a black away kit which would be pretty sweet. And a grey/silver third (although I think we’ll stay with maroon).
