+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xI think the players could certainly be better, but I think there is absolutely an issue with the coaching, and this shows when you look at how disorganised we look. No players know where to run or who to pass to. That to me is the coaches job to work out, and drill into the players so they can play as a cohesive unit. The players in the most dangerous teams all have a shared understanding of where they, and the ball will be at any given time, and that is why they can so easily dismantle opposition teams. I suppose the next question should be , what players would make the move in January after watching Fowler’s first 9 games ,clearly he is out of his depth and his 2 offsiders look clueless , yes he may turn it around but the games v Jets , WSW and City will make or break him I think. I suppose it depends on what Fowler is willing to say/do. If there are some promising youngsters not getting game time and he gives a promise of game time, they may be convinced. Not sure that is what we need, however. I can't imagine any of the senior players would be willing to leave without having their contract paid out, which is pretty pointless. Not hearing that any offers have been made to pay players out but would doubt very much our esteemed owner’s would entertain giving cash away . Also nearly all players are on 2 yr deals which means this yr and next payouts no chance This is the biggest worry of all - that we are contractually locked into a wooden spoon battle not just this season, but next as well. I really had high hopes for Fowler's appointment, but he's got pretty much everything wrong. Farks sake, calm down. Theres 7 players coming off contract plus not all the visa players are here on two year deals. And theres one senior player spot free on the roster roster so they can sign one player in January without moving anyone out who is not on a 2 year deal? Aldred is, Gilesphie is, Rod is, im pretty sure AAH and JOS are too ROD is defiantly in a two year deal but not expected to be a visa player. The others are less clearcut but besides: Aldred. Gilesphey o’Shay are perfectly serviceable HAL players. Holloway could be if he ever gets fit/motivated. I don't believe Gillesphey is an A League standard player, I'm not happy that he might be at Brisbane until the end of next season. And Aldred is borderline for me. Gillesphey has his moments agreed. But I’m less harsh on him maybe because the back three exposes all defenders .... but he has a killer left boot, can tackle and his series stats are up there with the best. The only thong with Aldred for me is he doesn’t look like a captain. Though the idea of Aldred playing in a thong is novel. He might move a bit faster.

Connor O’Toole to be off loaded next month according to SMH. Most likely destination for mine would be Mariners?

Newc 1-1 Roar for the wooden spoon fight. And another boring and skill-less performance from the Roar coming right up, again. It was more entertaining watching a John Aloisi team play any time. Good work club management.

If you asked me (as if you would) I would say that Robbie has learned a lot more tonight about what works and what doesn't. His starting team had a couple of changes - and the team that finished a couple more. Inman has skill and creates opportunities. Muratovic is a positive. Bowles is a liability. Young is a fantastic shot stopper. Neville and Hingert both add something positive. Pepper's enthusiasm and workrate does not equate to efficiency. Holloway is a stranded whale up front but coming from halfway can be effective. Gillesphey is so hot and cold - but I do not rate his positives above his negatives. O'Neil adds to the team and ROD also does from the bench. Powell is a good prospect and brings a return for his involvement. O'Shea is also a positive. May have missed some but don't care. If Robbie can build on the good bits we saw tonight that goes some way to continuing the development of this team. I felt better about our prospects as a team as the game went on and regardless of the result I finished the game thinking Robbie can bring this home now. Whether he does or not is his challenge.

So do we go all out and try and bring in a striker if ROD is becoming an Aussie citizen? Or do we put more trust in dwh and muratovic? Either way we need to strengthen our squad.

Why not, for relevance, compare Robbie to the well credentialled Merrick instead? A nonsense response. In your limited opinion. Thanks for the courtesy of setting me straight. Nix had an established squad already playing some good football. Robbie is a new coach (only common point) with basically a new team. Chalk and cheese. Robbie might have had the Nix playing good football too - so irrelevant to compare them. Does that confuse you?

They signed even more players than Roar did and Roar did their recruiting earlier than Wellington did.

The different is the Roar play completely terrible football, playing long balls behind the channels to the strikers is a smart strategy?
Fowler is naive and out of place so far with his coaching.

Very few touches, a couple of them were good. Not involved enough. Understandable for a teenager in his first game, but will need to improve to maintain a place in the match day squad.

I think comparisons between Roar and Nix are really valid right now.
Both went with unproven coaches.
Nix went with a proven assistant from SFC while Roar went with unproven Fowler from LFC’s Academy (It has to be said, Rangers went with Gerard who was on the same course as Fowler and had similar experience, so it can work)
roar signed 16 new players, Nix 15
The value of Roars signings was €3.23m and Nix €5.13m (The difference is pretty much accounted for with Roar signing 4 players from their Academy).
Nix signed 7 players from low leagues including League One, Serie C, Indian Premier League, and NZ Premiership.
Roar signed 6 players from low leagues including league One and Two in England.
So what’s the difference?
Nix signed more players from lower leagues than Roar did, and yet they’re flying - so it’s not the level the players were signed from!
So what is it??
