The poster gives the idea that Yuji and Do will be playing. I dont mind seeing Yuji play, but not so sure about Do

Do just needs to adjust to the physicality of the league. I wouldn't drop Jurman, I think he has been great for us this season.

GreatSolar backs Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar's promising start to the season on the field has been boosted with the arrival of GreatSolar as one of the club's major sponsors.

GreatSolar is a leading Australian solar provider operating in Queensland, South Australia and Victoria that provides Australian households and businesses with opportunities to reduce their electricity bills.

The GreatSolar logo will appear on the back of the Brisbane Roar away jersey to be worn in Sunday’s clash with Wellington Phoenix and will also appear on the front of the home playing shorts.

This announcement underlines the significant growth at Brisbane Roar since the club won its second consecutive Hyundai A-League championship in April this year.

GreatSolar joins other major Brisbane Roar partners The Coffee Club, Pauls and Brisbane Airport Corporation along with a number of national and multi-national brands who now have links with the club.
Brisbane Roar Strategic Partnerships Manager Steve Guise said GreatSolar was a great fit for Brisbane Roar.

"We share a strong community focus and commitment to engaging the football family throughout Queensland," he said.

“GreatSolar are a progressive company who, like us, have their eyes fixed on a bright future.”

Queensland State Manager Scott Brady said he was excited about developing a strong partnership with Brisbane Roar.

“GreatSolar are proud to announce our new partnership with Brisbane Roar," Brady said.

"This partnership is step forward in our initiative to become an important part of the Queensland community and we look forward to being part of the team this season.”

To launch the partnership, Great Solar are providing complimentary Brisbane Roar memberships with every residential solar package sold before the end of November.

Brisbane, drawn against Ulsan, was seeded in what has turned out to be the most difficult East Asian AFC Champions League group.

With Ulsan having a top 5 K-League finish; Beijing a top 4 CSL season, and FC Tokyo looking top 10 J-League, we had easily the most challenging group.

The ACL final will be Ulsan v Al Ahli in Ulsan on Saturday 10 November.

Winner goes to World Club Challenge where they will face Monterey (Mexico) for the chance to face Chelsea.

Ulsan were the Roar's Korean group opponents when we drew 1-1 in Ulsan.

Ulsan remain undefeated in the competition, beating all comers, with the exception of a 2-2 draw with FC Tokyo. Saudi outfit Al Ahli have lost 3, drawn 3 and won 5 times.

Is anyone else concerned that at this early stage all Brisbane Roar teams are struggling. What does this say?Has there been a change in football philosophy which has resulted in all teams losing their edge.
With the first team it looks like the possession base game can't be successfully integrated with a long ball game.It results in losing possession.Without overwhelming possession the Roar lose their advantage. The result is a team that no longer dominates teams and struggles to get results. Is it time the Roar get back to playing out from the back better and stop trying to take short cuts?In other words improve your skill don't give in to long balls.

lol I couldn't believe how many people thought Brisbane had the easiest group.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Im a bit concerned. We seem to be playing a very slow style of football and our attitude changed a bit it seems. Like they said on FOXsports, before when wed go down, the players would be spurred on, now when we go down, we seem to drop our heads and think its tough.

Drop Paaratalu for Brattan. I dont see why Rado doesnt use his subs, he always leaves them till very late when no chance of an impact. We need to up our tempo, we playing too slow and teams can get behind the ball easily. Against Victory we played with pace and purpose, all the other games weve been far too slow in build up play. Too many side ways passes too. These are things we need to work on, an work on them quick. We still technically the best team i think, but we slipping away here. Oh yeah, our passes, we often selling short each other on passes with these soft touches and that. We meant to be a passing team, yet our best passer is on the bench.

Yeah our build up play has been quite slow this season and often taking 3, 4 or 5 touches to find the next player. The passing has also been a bit of a worry, a lot of the passes, particular from out wide into the middle, have been quite soft with no pace on the ball (forcing the receiver to literally sit and wait for the ball to get to them).

Agree with benching Paarts for Brats, that will give us a bit more agility in our midfield (and hopefully put a rocket up Erics a$$)...

It is noticeable how we fail to take advantage on a conter attack, because inevitably, someone decides to do a culina and stop on the ball, before making a decision.I don't understand, why after so much training time ,they dont have some structured counter attack plays. There needs to be more sensible movement in the front third.Again if the players can't work out how to get behind defences, the coaching staff should be smart enough to practice some set moves.Too many times players move the ball across the face of goal, when smart diagonal runs would create opportunities. The normal scenario is to pass from side to side until an opportunity magically appears. Then they inevitably lose the ball and its panic stations in defence.
WAKE UP please Roar.Your oppositon know this and can defend it.Get smarter.
I appreciate it's not easy to get through a parked bus,but there are options to take advantage of a dominant position.
If a defence is behind the ball,it makes it difficult for the defending team to get the ball back even in a turn over if the attacking team is structured properly. With virtually noone to pass the ball to the defending team should be receiving wave after wave of attack. The approach should be to apply pressure and keep applying.Passing sideways applies little pressure when a simple missed pass means a turnover and counter attack. This is because of a bad pressure applying structure, when the defending team has already conceded possession.
If the attack is set up to take advantage of a turnover. It should have a much greater chance of getting the ball back ,as there should only be a few opposition players free for defenders to pass the ball to.This should create opportunities, because the defenders are caught between defence and transition which requires a different structure.
In my opinion there are many ways to break up a defence, but at the moment the Roar are hoping rather creating a way to break down defences.
For example a tall player like Paartalu pressing the central defenders as the ball is ball is passed from side to side would create havoc in the defence. There really are so many things that could be tried.

The thing is, this has always been something that has the potential to be an issue. Its something that could easily creep in and cause problems for us, and if we dont address it now, it will become a norm.

Hey guys, just saw on Facebook, Brisbane Roar have chartered coaches to pick up fans from both Toowoomba and the sunshine coast (Noosa, Maroochydore etc) for the Sydney game. $50 Adults / $40 U18's. Pretty good initiative.
That said, I don't see the fans from areas this far away from Suncorp making the trek on a regular basis, it is still exposure, and a positive thing to do for fans.

Now that we have finally seen some fire from Rado, hopefully he makes some changes to the starting squad... What I would like to see (bearing in mind we probably wont have Bes)

Theo
Franjic Taki/Donachie Smith Hingert
Brats Mass
Broich
Henrique Fitzy Halloran

Subs:
Acton
Do
Proia/Meyer
Donachie/Taki

For the first 60 mins I would rotate Henrique, Fitzy and Halloran through the wings and striker position as none of them are natural strikers but moving them around may through the opposition off. Pending on the situation, I would then sub on Do for either Henrique, Fitzy and Halloran (pending on who looks tired/not working out) at around the 70/75th min I would then sub on Proia or Meyer for one of the remaining wingers...

I wonder if there is an issue with those players who have not been offered contract extensions?Could be creating divisions .
As to changes,I agree it is time for those waiting in the wings to have their chance. There should be pressure on players for all positions.

Maybe - I just get the feeling the Nichols is sh!tty he didn't get a contract in Denmark and Eric might be sh!tty we didn't let him sign for one of the petrol leagues...

Last year I was thinking that its time for Mass to go, but so far he is one of the few that seem to really be giving the team his all...

Agree, along with Steff, who I thought should have retired after the GF. But his form this season has been better than last season so far. Hingert is a solid back-fill for Franjic but is no permanent replacement for Steff on the left - we should have picked up Goodwin who would have suited our game perfectly.
