Isn't Lucas Neill the Socceroos captain? That just degrades the reliability a bit.

Schwarzer should be captain. Him or Emmo. Most caps, Most responsible.

Personally think both have their merits but Juventus > Everton

Juventus are currently top of Seria A (albeit on goal difference) and are a good shot of playing Champions League or Europa League football, much more than what he gets at Everton.

Better league? Really? Have you looked at the current tables for both leagues? Serie A is MUCH closer between the top half of the table compared to the EPL.
Serie A 1st to 10th there is 7 points difference (22pts to 15pts)
EPL 1st to 10th there is 20 points difference. (34pts to 14pts)

So tell me which is a much more competitive league where the mid to low tables teams consistently steal points and wins from the upper tier teams?

Juventus are also top of the table on goal difference...with a game in hand!

Juventus have priorities in defence over an attacking midfielder like Cahill.

I agree, Serie A is probably more entertaining than the EPL.

But I think that bowden guy was talking about in terms of team quality in which case he would be right. :D

I still disagree.

Napoli beat Man City yesterday in Champions League.

Napoli is sitting 10th on the Serie A ladder.
Man City is first in the supposedly best league in the world.

Just shows that the quality in Serie A is spread out more compared to the EPL where its just in the top 3 or so teams.

Well thats just simply not true, maybe three or four years ago but not any more. Newcastle have been superb thus far, City qualified for Europe last season and set the pace this season, United and Chelsea are same old, Liverpool and Arsenal are on the rise and Tottenham, a team that didn't qualify for Europe this season managed to beat your reigning Italian and European champions last season.

Granted this is a very tight Serie A season but it's early days and some of thise smaller teams will gradually start to drop off whereas in the EPL the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham will be pushing United, City and Chelsea every step of the way

AUSSIE soccer superstar Tim Cahill has denied any knowledge of rumours linking him with Italian giants Juventus.

The Socceroos midfielder "signed with Everton for life'' when he tied himself to the English club until the end of 2014, but that has not stopped rival clubs from circling.

Cahill told the 2KY's Big Sports Breakfast program this morning he has not been told by his management of any interest from rival European clubs.

"For me, I know nothing about any stories, rumours, or papers saying that,'' Cahill said.

"I always just concentrate on my football.

"The one thing I don't do is invite it. If there is any truth in it then the club will deal with it.''

Cahill said Everton have no choice but to stand up this weekend and climb into the top half of the English Premier League.

yeah, if sydney rovers were playing this season either cahill probably would have came home.

i dont know where all these rumours keep coming from. cahill always expresses how he wishes to stay at the club yet these articles claiming an offer keeps coming.

Yeah funny how Tim Cahill is now the captain of the Socceroos. I Dont think it will happen but interesting that it mentions "Reports in Italy are suggesting that Juventus are interested in bringing the Australian international to Turin and are working on a financial package and its thought that Manager Antonio Conte will send scouts to watch the player who would find the lure of Juventus far to strong given their aim to return to Champions League football"

We need some more facts until we can gauge the validity of Juve's interest.

Woww
Whilst Cahill has always said, in every interview, that he loves Everton and wouldn't ever leave it, a deal like this is sure to send his heart-rate up a few notches. They're top of the table, looking very strong, and definitely Champions League would be enticing for Tim. With that type of cash, I'm not sure how Everton would react, as of-course, Tim is a club legend and the affiliation he shares with the club and its fans goes both ways. But we know how football works these days.

Everton are going to have to battle off reported interest from Italy for their star player Tim Cahill who is wanted by Juventus.

The Australian Captain has been a revelation at Everton since his move from Millwall in 2004 and has scored 54 goals in 204 appearances and earning his place amongst the supporters team of the year on several occasions and has constantly been Everton’s savior though he was linked with a move away from Goodison Park after their financial situation has resulted in selling key players and Sunderland and Chelsea were rumoured to be interested in the 31-year-old.

Reports in Italy are suggesting that Juventus are interested in bringing the Australian international to Turin and are working on a financial package and its thought that Manager Antonio Conte will send scouts to watch the player who would find the lure of Juventus far to strong given their aim to return to Champions League football, something Cahill himself has said he wants to taste again as a player.

Cahill will not come cheap even though his advancing years mean he is coming to the later stages of his career and a bid of around £15million should be enough to persuade Everton to sell.
