Girlfriend admitted today that things between us aren't working out the way she wants. Nothing I can do really but accept it, else I risk hurting myself again.

Though we're still dating and we're having a serious talk in person sometime this week so we'll see what happens. I love this girl, but there's no point being clingy and having her around if she wants to leave.

The end game for a guy is to get laid. And you can never underestimate the immaturity of a man when it comes to breasts. Any guy will find SOME feature of a girl which he finds attractive. Usually there are several. And conversely even the most stunning of girls have off-putting features.

No guy is EVER happy being 'just friends' after a break-up. He remains friends with the pure motivation of maybe, one day, getting the opportunity to have drunk sex one more time. Or in the hope that he will land a girl better looking and the ex will witness this and her feelings will be damaged like a matchbox in a hurricane.

as i said in response to the silent treatment debacle, if it was a problem she was having externally (not to do with you) she would have been open with you about it, but because she was weird around you, it seemed like it was internal problems she was having. it sucks that it has come to this, but at least you know it's not on a whim & she was pretty distraught about it, and put in some time to think about it etc. i see it as a testament to the seemingly good bloke you seem to be, that she was genuinely upset it wasn't working out. if she just broke it off on a whim, after seemingly being extra happy etc, and ran off with someone else asap, it'd probably indicate she wasn't appreciating you at all.

judging by your posts, you're a bit like me and tend to spoil your other half as they're the most important thing in your life. more fish in the sea etc - you'll find someone who genuinely deserves, and appreciates, the bloke you are in the future. until then, just devote your full love to your several sports teams (had to :lol:).

Preparing for a post in this thread later today. Ex is swinging by to take some stuff of hers to move into her new house, and the current guy she's seeing will be around to help.

Yeah exactly. I've had breakups where everything seemed fine then BAM, I'm leaving you for Martin or whoever. We both ended it on good terms and it's a refreshing change having an ex I don't absolutely despise. And not one mention of the line "I hope we can still be friends" that the other two used :lol:

Yep. I actually found this out a week or two ago, through some non intentional FB stalking, although I wasn't 100% certain until just now. It was sort of good, because I had absolutely no emotional reaction to it, which helped me realise that I had completely moved on.

But yeah, all you can do is laugh.
