A very good friend of mine had an ex that cheated on them, constantly belittled their achievements and guilted them into making a sex tape. Despite all this they wanted their ex back for well over a year. The ex constantly played on this to boost their own ego. It was horrible. Fortunately all seems well now. It goes away with time, mourning a relationship is like mourning a death in the family- there are no hard and fast absolutes for the time frame just a knowledge that the pain dulls with time to a point where you can get on without really thinking about it. Good luck KC.

afromanGT wrote:I never understood this philosophy of eating chocolate when you break up with someone. Like...how does diabetes make you feel better? Reward mechanisms. The habit is different for everyone (ice-cream, chocolate, fried food) and not everyone has one. Psychologically it stems from childhood where you would associate positive feelings with the thing in question. Quite often these associations are formed when a junk food is frequently/repeatedly used as a treat/reward for good behaviour or from regular events where everyone is happy (such as a family outing to the beach for ice-cream or movie night with maltesers and fantails.) In bad times we then crave the reward when we are craving the good feelings associated with it. Edit: I personally crave cadbury chocolate when I'm down and I think it has a lot to do with how my mother used to buy me a block of dairy milk when I was really sick, break it up and put it in a bowl near my bed. I think I associate it with the feeling of being cared for and loved, which I crave when I am sad/lonely. Edited by Scoll: 9/10/2013 04:54:03 PM

I can't say I've ever found comfort in one thing or anotherso I don't really relate. Maybe that's just down to my parents leaving me on the couch with a blanket a bucket and a pack of cold pills when I was sick as a kid.

Meeting up with a girl from uni tomorrow, that I met last week. All conversations had since have pointed to the fact that it's ON tomorrow.
Don't want anything too serious though, as she's one of those girls who calls herself ugly for attention and compliments, even though she isn't and is very happy to post selfless all over FB.

That's pretty much just a sure-fire indicator of daddy issues. *posts picture of herself on facebook* her: OMG I hate this picture. I'm so ugly Guy hoping to get his dick wet #1: Your'e beautiful Guy hoping to get his dick wet #2: Don't say that! You're gorgeous. ... Guy hoping to get his dick wet #413935656737: You're so hot. Her: Aww you guys <3 15 minutes later...Rinse and repeat.

So I just found out that the girl I have been seeing for a couple of months is moving away to Perth on boxing day, coming back only sparingly.
Feel so deflated/sad. What do? :(

When your down you want to feel better ect.

Feel so deflated/sad. What do? :( Depends if she's worth following to Perth or not. It is a beautiful city filled with... interesting... people.

Feel so deflated/sad. What do? :( It's a pretty short timeframe to be committing to uprooting and going after her. Depends whether you see a long-term future there. Quote:Seems afro is quite the pro psychologist Cheers I guess.

The things is that I don't see us surviving in the long-term together. She said she'd be back in Melbourne 3 weeks every year, obviously not enough. Will probably have to break it off when she leaves, it's just a shame because she's the first real gf I've ever had. Those stupid <14 y.o ones don't count.

You just write it off as being your first girlfriend and keep on slugging.
