Does that mean I can refuse to do work for other minority groups? haha

I say if you are a public company or work for one, suck it up and leave your prejudices at home. Otherwise we will have to create conservative safe spaces along with our leftard ones right? :p

It's ironic that conservatives demand so many safe spaces while mocking the left about it.

Again, you are failing to grasp the distinction between serving/working with minority groups, and actively participating in events of religious/political/minority groups. So you can't turn a Christian away from your restaurant, but you don't have to host their evangelistic outreach service.

I'll tell you something for nothing now this things over it's amazing how much stick Christians got over being opposed to SSM when in reality it was our recently imported muslim friends who were the most, based on demographics of the electorates McJules, vehemently opposed to the concept.

The vote wasn't even close in Western Sydney.  4:1 against.  Pathetic.  So much for assimilation.

Incredible how the left (of which I count myself as one) will go hell for leather against anything Christian but gives a mysogynist, backwards, medieval cult like Islam a free pass.

Looking forward to Andrew Bolt going to town on these clowns.

I personally think people should be branded just so we all know what the deal is.
Nothing major and you could personalise the font maybe to make it fun.
I mean, I wouldn't serve someone with Times New Roman but you get the idea.

If you told someone thirty years ago that Brisbane (and outback Queensland) would become more gay-friendly than Sydney, you would have received some very bemused looks.

How far our city has fallen.

Total farce but I’m happy the yes vote won.

Tony abbotts seat voted yes with 75%
NSW more conservative than QLD or WA
Western Sydney voted no, I’ll let you draw up your own conclusion on that.

Comgratulations LNP on bringing SSM one step closer to reality. This will go down as one of the great social reforms, and will forever we remembered as happening on the Liberals clock.

Shame on Greens and Labor, six years of power and achieved nothing in regards to fairness and equality for gays.

The only thing we can “thank” the LNP for is delaying this from happening for over four and a half years.

If the LNP conservative wing (and Tony Abbott) had allowed a conscience vote four years ago, same sex marriage would already have been legalised by the Gillard government as early as 2013.

Turnbull literally had to spend $200 million of taxpayers money just to silence the right wing of his own party. The most expensive subfactional dispute in history.

Because it conveys a difficult truth. The prophet of Islam was an epileptic, mass murdering child rapist - whodathunk his adherents wouldn't be progressive

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Education, religion, cultural background and socio-economic class all variables that tended to define the vote.

Western Sydney tends to have lower education levels, higher religious residents (both Christian/Catholic and Muslims), cultural differences and a lower socio-economic class ... all which tended to have coincidental relationships with "no" electorates. Although some changed dramatically between regions that were simply divided by a road ... so the change isn't usually that dramatic in the above factors for that.

but bt but if only the norty wiberals allowed a conscience vote waaaah waaaaah.  No mention to the previous SIX YEARS of Labor/Green controlled lower house and senate?  Of course, that would mean having to confront the fact that Labor failed gays, and that it was the  Liberal party who delivered gay marriage in 2017.   Suck it.

ALP member Stephen Jones introduced a bill in 2012 to legalise same sex marriages but was defeated in the House (42 ayes [ALP38] to 98 Noes [ALP26]) ... I believe the ALP were allowed a conscience vote but the Liberal party were not (instructed to vote 'no').

ALP senators also introduced another bill in 2012 but was defeated in the Senate (26 ayes [ALP16] to 41 noes [ALP11]). A couple of Liberal senators crossed the bench.

A Greens member tried in 2013 but was defeated in the Senate (28 ayes [ALP17] to 44 noes [ALP12]). I believe only 1 Liberal senator crossed the bench.

So if Labor had not allowed conscience votes for these bills it could probably be a law now (or similarly if Liberals had allowed a conscience vote).

The sad fact is despite Labor and the Greens having a majority in parliament they were unable to find a way.  The Liberals , despite their much higher proportion of conservatives were able to achieve this incredible social reform.

The gays should be partying with and kissing the feet or Turnbull, not that disgusting grub Shorten.

Oh fuck, Shorten skulling a beer with all the gays cheering him on. This is the same flog who OPPOSED the plebicite, told the gay communy the debate would poison and the gays would be jumping off bridges left right and centre, yet here they are embracing this mendacious shithead who wanted to DENY them the opportunity to get married like he's the fucking hero.

Meanwhile for Turnbull, the man who faciliated the plebiciste so gays could stop killing themsevles and get married, gets NO kudos at all. NONE. Only kudos for Shorten, Wenny Pong, Di Natale and labor, none for Liberals. This why I hate Labor and the left, they are such kudos whores. It doesnt matters if its gay marriage, borders or the economy. They will take credit for EVERYTHING. Health ? Labor! Jobs? Labor! Education? Good? Labor! Bad? LNP!

Cant libs have some kudos for once? Just a wee bit of kudos? Pwetty pweaaaase???
