We know this because some of these very people made submissions to the inquiry on franking credits and how Labor's policy would result in them keeping less of the same dividend than someone who had a much higher income. A major group were self-funded retirees who were painted as living the high life when many were struggling to pay for their meds which they pay full price for because unlike pensioner they don't get a HCC.
