+x+xHilarious that the worst economic managers in modern history are campaigning on economics really want to avoid the news for the next few months to avoid crap from all directions from all sides. Labour $250 billion debt. "DEBT AND DEFICIT DISASTER!!!!" Liberals. $1 trillion dollars debt? What's the problem? Remember in the budget 2-3 years ago they promised we would be in surplus the following year and sold it like we were already in surplus? Then COVID hit... The whole economic management thing is rubbish.

When they asked albo the unemployment rate he should’ve just said ‘does anyone know? These guys are now counting tafe students and people working a shift as employed. Next they’ll be counting the tuck shop lady at u8s footy’

+xWhen they asked albo the unemployment rate he should’ve just said ‘does anyone know? These guys are now counting rage students and people working a shift as employed. Next they’ll be counting the tuck shop lady at u8s footy’ Well, she isn't actively looking for employment... So she's not counted as unemployed :)

Counting employed with no hours (no income) we are at over 8% unemployed. The total of unemployed and underemployed is over 15%. We have moved more and more to a gig economy where employment is inherently unstable. The idiocy of economists expecting NAIRU (which the govt is depending on as their belief that wages will rise) to act in the same way as in the past when the nature of work and the measures of employment/unemployment has changed is staggeringly naïve. Wages will not grow in this country until we approach real low unemployment and that will require more hours and more stable work.

Not really going to engage with the media rubbish this election as they just play games. Albo should know the game and have had that figure in his head so shame on him but the information is largely pointless. The government pushing the narrative that "the economy is going great", I don't think is resonating with many people out there because of issues like above. We'll see, my prediction is that the government will hold on to the seats it needs to and we're in for another 3 years of shit. I hope I'm wrong.

However, I find that the media is concentrating on about 12 seats that they think are pivotal. The reality is that the number is closer to 50 seats that are in play Some of those are on big LNP margins but are being challenged by what would be considered small l liberal independents whose concerns are ICAC and climate change. Kooyong, Goldstein and North Sydney to name 3. There are also a lot of LNP incumbents that have built up buffers that are retiring that will bring other seats into play. The point is though that the ALP are protecting a lot of small margins. Seats will go both ways - including a number that people are not even talking about.. This election is a lot closer when viewed as a seat by seat rather than a national or even state based opinion poll.

15 years labor has had to prepare and it’s already looking a shambles.
Ffs - attack these fools.
The current government is our worst performing económic managers in modern history. And so corrupt it’s almost unbelievable.
They make up stats to suit themselves and the scandals are shameless and endless.
Labor need to get up and roast them. Don’t give some wishy washy bullshit. It failed last time with wet cardboard shorten and will again.
You know you’re up shit creek when the greens are performing better in the media.
Give Morrison a nasty nickname, call LNP out on their pathetic economics, do something ffs

Whether it'll get any traction is another thing. The media hit job on Labor is as intense as it's ever been.

If I were a Labour strategist I'd say 'don't take our word for it, take theirs' and then just do voiceovers for all the smack his own side have been saying for him. Gladys, Barnaby Concetta FW, etc.

Democracy doesn't work without viable & aggressive opposition.
The campaigns are all fluff with zero substance & zero discussion of actual policy. But it seems that's what the people want & as I always says. People get the government they deserve.

Apparently they were warned China were making overtures last year and the best Scomo could do was send a junior minister only a couple of weeks ago. Too little, too late. Even America are pissed about this. Fucking China.

Also $5.5 billion for the cancelled submarine contacts. Crickets. Might be repeating myself here but at $800 billion debt at just 2% (don't know the actual rate) interest thats $43 million dollars a day in interest. $1.8 million an hour, every hour of every day. Anything in the papers? Nope. I can remember when labour were $150 billion in debt and they never shut up about it. When they talk about media bias they should at least recognise that it swings both ways.

The media- even the Labor friends at Fairfax and the ABC- know that reporting on the debt will not interest the public. For a start, the public got lots a free money.

Maye. Russia though, I mean he loved those guys…for some weird reason Trump was right in word and action about many things. He warned the Europeans about the threat of Russian whilst at the same time avoiding war with them. The Russia collusion narrative was an illegally-funded hoax paid for by Clinton.

I think it should be noted that the government sent senior ministers lobbying all over Europe when the Great Barrier Reef was going to be listed as endangered but not when China was coming next door. Says all you need to know.

Remarkable these pricks - all about government staying out of free enterprise apparently, until it goes against their interest.
Throwing their toys out the pram about Mike Cannon-Brookes trying to buy AGL and change it, saying they will intervene....so much for the free market hey

Free market intervention. That's what the libs are all about aren't they? Oh and building and paying for a gas and a (proposed) coal fired plant that private enterprise wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. Socialism in action FTW! As an aside I think water & power are two things the government should nationalise. No way either of those should have ever been allowed into private hands.
