I honestly don’t know what you’re now talking about. So that now makes two of us in this convo who don’t know what you’re talking about.

Some ministers have executive powers man. Its worrying!  We dont know what scomo with his extra power! Maybe he did bad! Scomo is possibly a bad man, even though I have no proof of this! But the mere possibility that he did bad is a threat to the constibation and democraty!

scomo bad man!

Assuming that of a union/socialist faction secretly appointed themselves head of every portfolio you’d say ‘nothing to see here’.

I never said anything about Morrison being bad man. I’m with everyone else here - it’s just plain weird and needs investigating.

I don’t think he’s a bogey man. I think ke s a pathetic lying smug coward who believes in sky fairies because he’s utterly useless. He’s also absolutely awful at his job and one of the most impotent leaders we have ever had.

Lol no one gives a faff what you think mate. Like or hate him Scomo achieved the highest job in the land, I doubt he gives two shits about what some keyboard mashing knob like you thinks. Every LNP leader has their detractors but they also have many admirers. How many admirers do you have, other than your mummy? Political leaders are never as bad or never as good as people say, especially internet dickheads who spew bile like “he’s useless and awful waaah” as if they are some authority on the matter.

There’s nothing to investigate because nothing illegal happened. Something being weird, bizarre, unconventional etc are terrible reasons to launch an investigation. Most of the media is moving on now, this campaign to oust Morrisson is losing steam. This will be totally forgotten about in a week, Morrisson will keep his job and the mass media will set their sights on the next scandal.

Odd that the GG didn't make diary notes given he made diary notes about everything else. (Literally everything else related to his duties.)

You can either assume he didn't because;

(a) he knew it was dodgy
(b) he's incompetent
(c) Scomo told him not to.

I'm going with (c).

It's absolutely insane that politicians can have the power to give a billion in industry grants. This should be from public service bodies with no political ties. They simply cannot be trusted with this money and have proven to only grant projects on how it plays out for them, not long term benefit for industry or community.

The whole Scomo portfolio thing is, at best, half a days worth of media attention at best. It probably doesn't even deserve to be the lead story, but the progressive media is so determined to oust another conservative from politics , they will continue to ride it until he either resigns or the coalition forces him to go.

I personally dont give a shit that Scomo appointed himself to various ministries, in the height of the pandemic lots of strange things happened, some necessary (like giving the CMO greater powers), some unnecessary (like pissing away hundreds of billions of dollars on stimulus and pandemic payments). With all the extra power Scotty appointed himself to, it appears no great incidence of corruption or abuse of power has happened, so why is everyone so hot and bothered?

I'm 100% sure if this was a Labor politician, no one would be talking about it. In fact, I'm sure if this was Albo, whom is currently the mainstream media's favourite darling, he he would be praised to doing what was necessary to "save lives and keep people safe" during "difficult times and unforeseen circumstances". Only an incredibly brave compassionate man like Albo would take on all this extra burden of responsibility. Conservative politicians are held to different narratives and standards than their progressive counterparts.

The whole thing is shady because he was so secretive about it. He should have said: pandemic, need to double up on ministries, but also pass it around to others and not just himself.

Governments routinely cover shit up all the time. At all levels. Typically they release the infromation that portrays them in a favourable light. Its been this way for decades. Its nothing new. Scomo covering up demoting himself to various portfolios was likely to avoid a media backlash rather than a clandestine attempt to hijack the democratic processes and annoint himself supreme ruler. If youre genuinely concerned about governments undermining democracy and abusing power look at the various state governments who fanned hysteria, fear and paranoia to lock down their citizens for months on end.

Note though that whilst Labour said there needs to be more transparency and oversight they won't stop ministers from making unilateral decisions regards grants. A bit of do as I say not as I do going on there.

Grants need to be taken out of control of ministers unless there's a special case. (If need be that can go to a review board or something if they disagree.)

It's likely the AG will find Scomo did nothing wrong. Fine. Then make a new law that says any appointment, in any capacity, needs to be published and made public.

Done.

Yep, and they need to find out what decisions he made, but most of all why he did it. He's obviously done it for a reason - not the wishy washing shifting ones has given. None of them will give a straight answer - see Joyce flipping on what he knew? I am sure in 12 months we will find something out, when someone else has a book or someone qualifies for a pension

 From the Holgate inquiry:

"There was supposed to be an independent review into my situation which was led by the finance department," she said."we now find out that Mr. Morrison was the minister of the finance department under that review."It doesn't sound very independent to me."Press play to hear the Toll Global Express CEO also speak about Australia's skilled worker crisis."

Of course, the woman who stole money from taxpayers and used it to buy expensive watches for her colleagues, would take advantage of the confected furore around Scott Morrison to downplay her misappopriation and tarnished reputation. I hear even the Kremlin is about to blame the Ukraine invasion on Scomo, he's everyone favourite whipping boy at the moment.

Let me guess, lots of hyperbole like "he attacked the fabric of democracy!!" and "destroyed the sacred covenant between elected representatives and the public" but ultimately '"shhhhhh no laws were broken".

'Stole money'. Fuck me what a stretch. CEOs awarding bonuses to staff is not stealing money. The LNP love to say that government need to get out of the way of business and love to talk about how private enterprise can do everything better until a CEO in a semi government organisation acts like an actual CEO in a private company and then all hell breaks loose.

If you want to talk about 'hyperventilating' over an issue Scotty blew himself up over this. Scotty bullied a well performing CEO that literally won hundreds of millions of dollars of work out of her job for doing her job and acting like any CEO anywhere would act. What a giant cockhead. This from a bloke who at the time held 5 other ministeries and told no one.

Pretty sure you just use this account to rile up as many people as you can by saying the dumbest shit imaginable which is dumb as you're trolling about 4 people. (If that.)

Wouldn't you be best pressed to troll other forums, twitter and facebook pages with a larger reach? Or do you just have enough time to bounce between 20 or so different pages spouting garbage across all of them?

Almost certain you voraciously read and watch anything Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro and that other flog Avi Yemini puts out.

Fair bet you're also an avid Sky after dark watcher. Probably have a poster of Rowan Dean on your wall.

Liberals decided to move towards the sky news after dark brand of the right wing with this anti lockdown, covid denying rubbish and have been  burnt big time.

Think the knives are being sharpened for poor old Albo.  I actually like the guy old school Labor and it really scares me should the terrible trio of Plibersek, Shorten and Bowen end up running the country.

Still half a million immigrants and still counting, now being reduce to half..too little too late- housing costs and rents through the roof, materials and workers re-directed to infrastructure projects to accommodate all the newer arrivals causing skyrocketing building costs for residential homes, Victoria is broke because of it.

YAY Labor.

Building cost are skyrocketing because of immigrants? Has to be taking the absolute piss. There are a million things that are causing construction industry costs to increase (as they have been since the start of covid/Ukraine war)

read the post again.:

Increased immigration requires increased infrastructure to accommodate them, resulting in increased demands for materials and labour and redirection to those projects as opposed to residential construction.

If you think immigration isn't a mjor cause of rising housing costs your are il-informed.

There are dozens of things in front. Trust me I know, my family owns a large construction company

At the absolute base level, negative gearing has had a huge impact for years as boomers horde properties. There has been a materials increase and supply chain issues over the last few years driving up prices - nothing to do with migrants.

If anything we need more migrants because there is a MASSIVE lack of skilled labor to build the projects, resulting in their delay and cost blow out. The industry is screaming for more people, not less.
