Blow out in the end. Those blisters ruined Murray.

The sad thing was, Novak was no where near his best. Murray was playing the better tennis until his body succumbed to injury.

Novak was dominant for that first half hour, then Murray took over until the blisters became an issue. Novak should have swept the first set but he couldn't convert.

 He didn't deserve that first set though :P
That was probably the most boring final we've had in a while actually.

Huge call, I thought he was the better player for the majority of the first two sets tbh, Djokovic just didn't look himself for a while there. Shame Murray's injuries took the contest out of the match, felt sorry for him by the end.

He should have taken the first set quickly.

18 Year old Nick Kyrgios goes through to the 2nd round of the French Open after beating Radek Stepanek 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (10-8) 7-6 (13-11). Will play Marin Cilic in his next game.

Hewitt was in vintage touch for the first 2 sets, just couldn't maintain that level of stroke play. Gael monfils taking out Berdych would be match of the tournament so far.
Tomic in massive trouble down 2 sets

Hewitt proving there is plenty of fight left in those old legs. Even if he does decide it's time to retire, surely he has to have a farewell at the Aus Open, I can only imagine the crowd if they knew it was his last tournament. It's funny that during his career he has played alongside Phillapousis and Tomic, both who have far, far more talent than him yet aren't in the same ball park when it comes to playing tournament tennis. I'm not sure if there has ever been an Australian sportsperson with a better talent:results ratio.
Funnily enough Nadal's legs showing that he is going to have to plan his career carefully from now on. I'm not sure his body is capable of playing the French and Wimbledon back to back. Full credit to Darcis though

The problem with this forum is that extraordinary situations get swallowed up and amalgamated.Happens quite a bit with AFL issues Yesterday was one of the most remarkable days in the history of tennis-and deserved it's own discussion
Good luck with this thread

Grow up. Just accept that things run smoothly around here with this kind of moderation.

Funky and/or R_B - maybe change the thread title to include something about Wimbledon?
I really hate having to read Girt's tantrums.

Grow up. Just accept that things run smoothly around here with this kind of moderation. Was I being a dick about it? No. I don't know why you've been at my throat the last few weeks, but I thought you were better than that, and I'm a little bit sick of it. Fair enough if people thought it should go in here, but it's a similar case to the 'who will win the election thread'. It was an anomaly in sport and Girt was just trying to make conversation about it, the thread would only have lasted a week max,and then it would have disappeared forever. I just thought it had a place, but it's really not an issue.

With regard to the Election thread, while I personally disagreed it being made, I can understand why a poll on the issue could be interesting, and we are unable to edit polls in to existing thread.
