Luongo had FOUR defenders on him for that goal, plus got it past the keeper.

Luongo’s in a hot patch of from, similar where he was a couple years ago. Is a certain starter for the Roo’s for mine, better than Mooy.

Last time around I went for Oar with #11, thinking he would be in the national team for years to come...hasn't worked out well so far.

Read something about Swansea with a midfield injury crisis. That aside perhaps that'd be a pretty cool summer move for Luongo? Swansea should survive. It'd be quite hard to break into the Cardiff or Fulham sides not to mention the QPR rivalry with the later. I've got my money on Fulham in the playoffs but anything can happen.

Imo mooy rogic and luongo can all start together and you work out a system that suits them.. As they and Ryan and Leckie and sainsbury are clearly ahead of the rest of our players.. We don't have the depth to play lesser players because the coach is stuck on some system Just my opinion but good coaches recognise the players they have and in part chose a system around that

folami comments:
"Pleased for the boy. I think he certainly has the talent."
"Been rave reviews about him for a while, McCarthy always berating his lack of work ethic. Thought it was excellent today"
"I saw him in a pre season friendly and got speaking to Milts about him He said he had the skills just a question mark about the work ethic side of the game The coaches can tell/show him what to do on that side but desire is something you can't coach. Hopefully having now had a taste of the first team, he will push on"
"Looks a real player to me. Hopefully he kicks on now. I’d start him at Brentford, fcuk it."
"Was excellent, for an 18 year old his hold up and link up play caused havoc, great with the ball into his feet. Done excellent to round the keeper for the second goal and got the well deserved goal, Ipswich's third, worked tirelessly, still raw but major potential very impressed."
"Has talent just lacks application at times it is said."

Worried for Huddersfield. Could easily drop due to that horrid goal difference.

You complain about how shit they are all day. I think if we're compact, Millsy & Luongo or Jedinak and Luongo is a more mobile Twin DM pairing Mooy & Luongo would work if Luongo took it upon himself to get a bit dirty. But Luongo & Millsy would suite the counter style a bit more I think, basically because Mooy can't intercept a ball to save his life (too slow shh)

Fantastic news about Folami, hopefully he gets regular gametime for the rest of the season. Imagine if he starts banging in the goals at senior level like he has been doing all season for the U18s and U23s!

And sorry to be THAT person, but if Folami continues to appear for Ipswich or bags any more goals, surely he justifies a place in the extended squad for training camp at the very least? We are so light on genuine strikers, and this kid could be a possible solution.

+x+x+x+x+x+xMaclaren should be starting for the Socceroos. The guy works hard on defense too. Juric is excellent off the ball and has performed far better for the NT than Maclaren. No way he should start. Juric is better at holding the ball no doubt but no way he is better than Maclren off the ball, if we are talking about work rate, making runs and getting in good positstions then he Maclaren is better. Juric has been played better? I guess so, he certainly has had a lot more games to do so, in 34 games he has scored 8. Maclaren has had 5 games with no goals, give him another 29 games and lets talk then. I agree he Maclaren should not be starting over Juric, but he deserves to be on the bench at the world cup, can't keep expecting Cahill to save our ass in the future. they play in leagues of similar quality now, so it's a good comparison. maclaren out performed juric in the a-league. but they are very different types of players. juric for luzern 26 games 8 goals 5 assists maclaren for hibs 8 games 3 goals also maclaren was subbed on a darmstad - 7 times with no return. i believe some of them were on the wing? maclarent tends to get momentum when he plays a lot of games back to back. He might have a strong back end to the season if there is enough games left he needs to play in the right kind of system. basically needs to be in a team that plays on the front foot - in the middle of an attacking three. he worked really well in brisbane because broich and borello were both physical and creative - they could hold the ball up and cut in and maclaren would shadow around the box. he is not the kind of big lone striker/target man suited to defensive teams that want someone to knock down balls and hope something gets picked up. Agree entirely. Maclaren was "lucky" to be in socceroos squad 10 days ago. He scores a goal against Partick Thistle and everyone is trying to make room for him in the NT. A lot of transient emotion on this forum. I love it. So excitable It was an absolutely great weekend for Aussies abroad. One of better ones I can recall in recent years

Cleur starting in Serie C
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Fair chance Leckie still would've missed though...he didn't have to shoulder the bloody ball regardless, use your head son

+xFound this encouraging review Ben Folami (for Kenlock 46)Made a real impact following his introduction at the break as he put himself about, showed some neat touches and forced the first Ipswich goal. Whether he actually scored it or not is another matter but a highly promising Championship debut. 8 Not good enough... needs to be top scorer in la liga or EPL at least, before we pick him... we have so many good strikers available... wait a minute... :S

Let’s be fair, Folami has more minutes of professional football under his belt than Ikonimidis did when he was selected for his debut.
He might pass Brad Smith next weekend too.

Ange had another 3-1 win in the cup. That's 3 in a row including two league wins. They have a derby against Kawasaki Frontale on Sunday at home.
