Such great news, Ikonomidis ripping up in Italy and being scouted by Arsenal and Man U, and Mitrovic playing for Tampines against the mighty Young Lions in the S-League.

It's a good time to be an Aussie football fan!

Article on Ikonomidis, pretty much just saying he is good. Mentions at the end they are trying to extend his 2016 contract

Quote:
Oikonomidis gives wings to Lazio

March 4 at 15:00
Two goals and an assist in the derby with Roma to become a true hero of the weekend at home Lazio . For once in Formello together with the faces of Felipe Anderson, Candreva and Klose to be celebrated is also the star of the baby talent Chris Oikonomidis (photochrisikonomidis Twitter):

Protagonist AGAINST ROME - Class '95, outside attack Australian but of clear Greek origin has incatato all the derby against the most celebrated parieto Giallorossi returning from victory in Youth League against Ajax. An absolute ease of travel, combined at a great speed in the narrow and incredible precision football with his right foot, are the qualities that have enabled Oikonomidis to shine in direct confrontation with the Giallorossi back Paolelli. Before cutting back-door with stop chest and right footer, then escape back to the left and the assist for the goal of Fiore and finally the knockout blow to the head in centroarea striker sailed.

THE HEIR OF Candreva - For shots, play and tactical flexibility reminds the outside of Lazio Pioli, Antonio Candreva. As the wing Roman, during his short career has slowly moved the range on the wing without losing But the habit of goal. In the season is one of the top three scorers in Group C championship Spring. Among the Italian Cup, Italian Super Cup and has already chalked up 20 appearances with 13 goals.

DOWNLOADED dall'Atalanta - Oikonomidis is also one of the rare mistakes dell'accoppiata Marino-Favini , executives Atalanta, who after having brought to Italy from Rhodes , have downloaded it leaving him free during the ' summer 2013. Igli Tare , together with the his agent Ulisse Savini , has chosen to focus heavily on him hoping to replicate the shot made with Keita Balde Diao and Mamadou Tounkara .

FUTURE IN TRUCK - With a contract expiring in 2016 and the Premier League ( Arsenal and Manchester United ), which continues to observe it closely, the future of Oikonomidis, may be far from Lazio. But the Lazio is working steadfastly to his contract renewal, because Oikonomidis is ready to give wings to biancocelesti coached by Pioli.

Wouldn't really see this as dropped as he came off the bench for the first team on Saturday and at full fitness you would think he could do a short stint with the firsts and a full youth game. Also the players who didn't get off the bench for the firsts all played a full game.

celtic v st johnstone -- this is the lowest ranked game that celtic have had for the last month. he is in full training. kris commons is out with an injury. the squad is generally a bit worn after an epic month of fixtures. AND paddy power has rogic as 15th most likely to score first. pretty good considering there will be 20 outfield players on the pitch at kick off.

has anyone else had any news???

Didn't even make the bench :(

Extremely frustrating.

Needs to move. Should never have gone to Scotland.

he would have been injured in any country. that being said, there's too much pressure on celtic to experiment - losing v st johnstone is not going to help anything. i hope he gets a loan/transfer asap. the celtic midfield is over full.

You disagreed but agreed

I don't think Rogic had much choice in the matter. He is clearly a "product" of the Nike Academy and their ties with Glasgow Celtic are well documented.

Unfortunately for Rogic, he is a victim of this corporate scam and there is little he can do about it until his contract expires or Celtic cut him loose. As long as Rogic cooperates with Nike, the cheques will keep coming.
