Lazio up 3-1 with an extra man at around the 60 minute mark. This is the sort of time to give a youngster a go...

I wouldn't read too much into it.

Assuming the bench for cup games is as big as the league, Ikonomidis is on it. Game starting at 07:00.

Amini is with the U23s and played. Not sure about specifics. Hopefully Amini moves on at seasons end, to a club that'll value him. Once he gets some first team football in him at a good level I'd imagine a 'Roos callup won't be to far away.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Ugarkovic has gone on loan to the team at the top of the Croatian second division HNK Gorica. Hopefully he can play pretty much the rest of the season there and become a regular in the top flight next season http://nk-osijek.hr/vijesti/33/ugarkovic-mioc-i-dugandzic-na-posudbama/Quote:The young Australian team member Steven Peter Ugarkovic already joined the second division Gorica

Talk of Serie B side Catania interested in a loan move for Brillante, however they are denying it publicly I think: Quote:Ds Spezia to VN: "Brilliant interesting player but ..." Joshua Brillante can go to Catania . As collected by Violanews.com at this time the name of the midfielder would be in the notebook club Etna. And the Spice ? There was some contact but not proposed officers. A Violanews.com the sports director of the company Ligurian Guido Angelozzi has denied it all: "Brilliant - he said - has a profile important, is one of those interesting players. At the moment, we do not seek a midfielder, we have other priorities. " In fact the companies have spoken, Fiorentina hinted to be available to let leave the Australian, with the aim to make it do experience. Will be decisive also the will of member today is the Catania to be favored. http://www.violanews.com/esclusive/ds-spezia-a-vn-brillante-giocatore-interessante-ma-20150113/ Another seperate article reporting Spezia in Serie B are also interested as their TD Igor Budan is a big fan of Brillante: Quote:Fiorentina-Spezia: it comes to Brilliant After returning to be convened for the race last Sunday against Palermo, after more than two months after the last time, even if it is not entered in the field or from the beginning, nor in during the game, Joshua Brillante midfielder arrived in purple shirt last summer by Australian Newcastel Jets is preparing to leave Fiorentina on loan. He's actually had number 70 for the senior team since the start of the season as far as I can see, but this is the first time he's been named in the first team match day squad.

Fantastic to see him progress at Lazio. =d>

It is a Round of 16 clash, winner to play Milan in the QF. Hopefully he gets a run, but given the importance of the match, he may be tagging along for match day preparation experience rather than getting out on the pitch.

They should be getting promoted this season promoted again... that would sure would be something for Swindon! I guess Southampton and Blackpool both have done that in the past. Norwich too, right? And don't say it can't happen. Swindon have been in the PL before ;)

Aussie striker out on loan to 5th div team.
"Young striker Thomas Strain has joined Chester on a one-month loan. Strain joined Villa in 2011 on a two-year scholarship, and will join up with the non-League side until mid-February."

How Mabil's trail at Ajax went? Apparently he is expected to be back for Adelaide United training at the end of the week.

Josh McDonald came on in the 65th minute for Nottingham Forest U21s v Sheffield Wednesday U21s, turning the game around from a 0-1 deficit with two assists for a 2-1 win!
