Brilliante also played another friendly vs a lower Italian club I think. he started in a pretty weak central midfield combination. Don't know how long he played He played 62mins in a 5-0 win over 4th tier Arezzo. Cuadrado got a half and so did Joaquin but it was a second string Fiorentina XI. He got a 6.5 rating for his game. People said he worked hard in midfield but went missing a bit, but that was just down to experience. Has very good ideas when transitioning into attack. One Vinnie Grella was looking on to check on his boy: looks more like a pill dealer then an agent/manager there.. I though they had nice suits in Itally Vinnie? Oh c'mon and who IS wearing a flash suit there? It's pre-season game with a second XI, probably cold, come in your casual wear... Then again - casual wear in Italy? Out for a spot of shopping? :p

Don't know how long he played on the ball as usual Moofa , nice work, hope Davidson gets his start, and its great that Brilliant is getting such a good trial in his first preseason. i only hope he can sustain the good performances if/when called on as a squadie during the year.

Sarota made a break through before Oar to be fair. However, point taken. In the end, our players only break through faster in weaker competitions where the gap between said league and the HAL (or the quality of the individual player) isn't actually that big.

Sainsbury has had a good start to this season and was unfortunate with injury on the back end of the season before that. Davidson had a decent season last year. There are a few players who have made a good career for themselves in Holland. Of most recent memory, Culina, Emerton & Holman. If that is the benchmark, then plenty have failed to make the same impact thus far. Think Rukavitsya, Holland, Babalj, Zullo, Sarota et al. To be fair Sarota is highly rated at Utrecht and was a consistent starter before he ACL injury. now he is on the comeback and still managing consistent squad selection, I’d say he has proven he is successful at this level (he's just had rotten luck in the past 12 months) Edited by toffee's_or_roar: 19/8/2014 01:16:30 PM

Giannou seems back and ready for the start of the season starting a friendly and playing 65 minutes. It was a disappointing 1-1 draw. http://www.sport-fm.gr/article/emeine-me-tis-eukairies/781763Mrcela also got his first start. He played the full 90 as they lost 3-2, all 3 of the oppositions goals came in a 6 minute spell from the 51st to the 57th minute. Don't know what the keeper was doing for the second. The third it seems Mrcela is the one jockeying the opposition, giving him a little too much room and he is unable to block the shot. Hmmm pretty much on twitter that he's simply been replaced. No suggestion of injury and he hasn't played well the last two games.

From the looks of the stream I'm watching it doesn't seem as though Sarota is starting. Can't find the team news anywhere

oh ffs Dario
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Dario seems to be playing a straight striker /9 role..
Basel lead 1 -0 after 20min Vidosic just had a decent headed of a lone range set piece , from behind the back post got the header into the turf but it bounced sharply over the crossbar at the far post, keeper beaten.. now he wins a foul on the right flank, drew the fullback in with a nice touch in/out.. starting to play well
