I think they got their noses out of joint when McGree said in his first interview that Birmingham was a "stepping stone" move for him. So he got them offside from day one.

Righto, that was undiplomatic but I would be more concerned if they were already dismissing his football ability rather than his
media skills.

Agree with a lot of things you say Pala but certainly not this one. We play players we and our junior systems have produced. Opportunists like Arnold and ancestory.com can fuck right off.

Kewell never came through our systems.. that's probably why we have never see anyone even near him.

In an ideal world we wouldn’t have had covid19 fuck up the entire year for all the Socceroos games.
If Aussie kids want to play for the Socceroos instead of the likes of Boyle and Souttar then they have to play better football than them. Best players -who are eligible according to Fifa - get the gig.

This thread is getting derailed guys.!

So you would prefer more players like Boyle and Souttar to play in front of players that have been in the system? This isn't club football or in FIFA Ultimate team.

If you got no problem to have players that have never in our shores to play for the country then good for you but international football is alot different than the standard club football where its about emotional connection for who you represent, but I guess modern football fans dont get this....

Edit.

Aussies Abroad is a sacred thread and it's best to avoid derailing it. So I've deleted my reply to Barca4Life and, instead, I've copied and pasted it to a new thread, "Playing for Australia (even as a citizen by descent) without having grown up/lived in Australia. Yay or nay?

VAR is so bad in this Suwon match...

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
