Looks like Sainsbury is playing along with the first eleven players. Hope this means he's considered a starting player when the proper season starts.

Jovanovic and Cornthwaite both played 90 minutes.
DeVere not in the squad.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Babalj got his first time this pre-season playing the second half this morning. One of their new strikers Tankovic (from Fulham) has scored a couple both times he has played. I don't think it is looking too good for Babalj.

McCormack isn't that convincing , big season last year but not the best before that, never played higher then championship level , and is also played out wide some times so taggart isn't completely stuffed , not to forget that Fulham could play 40+ games including cups games next season he will surely see his fair share of action

For £11 million Fulham seem pretty convinced, but you're right, it's a long season and departures seem likely so he'll get his chance.

Fulham will play 50+ games, possibly even 60+... You need big squads in the Championship so no doubt he'll get a run at some point, but will it be enough of a run to help him progress?

Club Brugge are playing a friendly right here in St. Petersburg tonight, anyone know if Matty Ryan travelled? It'd be a real treat to see him play here. Tweeted him, but I don't have the most active personal twitter account so who knows if it will get through to him.

Info from Breda's twitter:

Katsetis got the second half for Breda and scored the first of the half in a 16-0 win. Breda also signed one of the other trialists Kingsley Boateng a striker from Milan yesterday.

Quinn didn't play.

Edited by moofa: 9/7/2014 06:45:15 AM

Do you feel the way Katsetis is going he might get a professional contract at Breda? From the stuff on you tube he looks like a interesting prospect.

Well they are short of players in general with transfermarkt with them only having 18 players and their official website with them only 17 (both include 3 GKs). Defense is where they are really short but most squads have at least 23 in the Eredivisie so there are definitely positions available. I am guessing they don't have much cash and free transfers who are only on youth contracts are probably the cheapest option so all good there. The only question left is how good is he? He got a positive review a few days ago and scored today so I and going to be optimistic and say he has a good chance of getting a contract offer.

Ok thats interesting, time will tell if he's good enough to earn a pro deal.

A little more confirmation (ie: hype) on Armenakas' move to Italy:

Daily Mail wrote:
Panos Armenakas decides to leave Watford for Udinese despite interest from Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea
By SAM CUNNINGHAM
PUBLISHED: 09:42 GMT, 11 July 2014 | UPDATED: 10:17 GMT, 11 July 2014

Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have been beaten to the signature of Watford wonder-kid Panos Armenakas.

The 16-year-old, who grew up in Australia, joined Watford's academy in 2012. The Hornets hoped he would stay with them in their youth set-up and named him as a first-year scholar in April.

New deal: Panos Armenakas puts pen to paper on a three-year deal at Udinese

But amid interest from leading Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool, Armenakas has agreed a three-year professional contract at Udinese, who are owned by the Pozzo family also in charge of Watford.

Before he moved to the Hertfordshire club, Armenakas had trained with Barcelona, Ajax and AC Milan and was watched by United and Chelsea. Somewhat ambitiously, Bolton Wanderers also flew him over for a two-week, all-expenses-paid visit in 2005.
In 2010, Armenakas played for AC Milan Under 12s in a junior annual world tournament in Portugal where he scored eight goals in seven games. He was the only non-Italian based player in the side.
Armenakas, who is Greek-Australian, was compared to Ronaldinho as a seven-year-old and has also drawn comparisons to Wayne Rooney when he was a teenager.
The left-footed attacking midfielder – who has a Greek-Australian father and American mother – is currently choosing to play for the Greek Under 17s, but it is understood he is also interested in representing Australia.
He is known as a playmaker, with sublime dribbling ability, eye for a pass and a finish to match.

Irvine

Irvine not even listed in the players not used for Celtic this morning. A little bit of talk from Kilmarnock fans on twitter and forums he could be going there.

Cooper

Travis Cooper has returned to VVV Venlo after disappointing trial game with Fortuna Sittard.

Quote:
FORTUNA SENDS TRAVIS COOPER RETURNED TO VVV
Fortuna sends Travis Cooper returned to VVV
New 07/11/2014 in News , Players

Fortuna Sittard VVV'er Travis Cooper scanned. The attacker of the Venlo club played earlier this week with the friendly match with Alverna, but could not convince the coaching staff.

Trainer Peter van Vossen: 'We have decided not to proceed with Travis. Dion Watson making progress on the right, we want development can not stand in the way. He wants this to be years and I see that back in training and in games.''
Source: www.limburger.nl

http://www.venlonaren.net/fortuna-stuurt-travis-cooper-terug-naar-vvv/

Inman
Inman also played a half in a Crewe friendly scoring and having one of his other shots followed in and scored by a teammate. He and other were said to be flanking the striker so maybe winger but I suspect a little more central, not really hugging the line.

Quote:
Davis had hinted that Pogba would be given a chance to impress in a more central striking role in pre-season and the Guinea international started in his more favoured role, flanked by Billy Waters and Inman.

He broke after recycling possession and fed Inman in the inside left channel. The former Newcastle man's shot was parried but Grant, who continued his run, fired home in the 24th minute.

It was then the turn of Norton keeper Joe Hemmings to take centre stage, first turning over a 12-yard drive from Waters and then getting down low to keep out an Inman left-foot volley from the resulting corner. Grant was running the game from central midfield and would have added to his tally, via a deflection, had it not been for another smart stop again by Hemmings.

Waters was enjoying his role coming off the flank and was to provide fellow wide man Inman the chance to slot home for 3-0 just before half-time which he duly did.

A little more confirmation (ie: hype) on Armenakas' move to Italy:

Panos Armenakas decides to leave Watford for Udinese despite interest from Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea

Mad tekkers from when he was like 13 in 2011:

I will supremely pissed off if this guys slips through the net. I'd hope the youth coaches and managers would be on the phone to him.

West Brom have officially signed a left back from Hannover so it looks unlikely Davidson will go there now and even if he does there is a good chance he will be second choice
