Really hope this works out for Brillante, especially with the option to stay at Empoli down the track. Fiorentina are a great society, but under Montella so many quality midfielders have been brought in only to wait in a very long queue and eventually leave with minimal playing time.

I think it would be a great option personally. Empoli haven't had the best of seasons, but they are slowly rebuilding their side with quality young players that are not getting much game time at big clubs. They have also agreed a loan deal with AC Milan for promising attacking midfielder Riccardo Saponara with the same buy-out clause attached.

There isn't too much depth in Empoli's central midfield, so I think he's got a much better chance of breaking through. If Empoli are relegated his chances increase even more and Serie B is a very tough league and a good one to do your apprenticeship in.

yeah, totally agree a loan is good. Maybe a buy-out clause is a formality in these situations? On the sounds of it though it isn't so good

Empoli done Bresc and Vinnie no harm, would be a great move. Especially at Josh's age, consistent game time there and he can move on to bigger and better things after a couple of seasons.

Holloran and leckie would be good. Swindon will almost certainly make the champ. Wright has a shot as well.

With the type of operation he had, his recovery could be at least another few months until he gets back to full running at speed again. I think it would be very hopeful to see him play this season, but it all depends how his body responds to the op/rehab.

Hard to say, the recovery rate for adductor longus tendon release surgery is 87% in all Football & Ice Hockey players so there is a very high probability that this procedure will resolve Rogic's ongoing groin problems.

Empoli and Fiorentina have reached the loan agreement for Brillante and la viola will monitor his progress until the end of the season. Official announcement to be made shortly:

Quote:

All done for the passage of Joshua Brillante by Fiorentina on loan to Empoli. In the next few hours should get the official: the two clubs have reached an agreement and the player has already said yes to the independent courses. Brilliant prepares adventure with the blue shirt. Fiorentina - who has bet on Australia in the summer - will continue to closely monitor the progress of the midfielder. http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/mercato-no-stop-indiscrezioni-trattative-e-retroscena-del-22-gennaio-637584

On Rogic, last I read was a quote on twitter:

Quote:
Celtic Football ClubVerified account ‏@celticfc January 15

RD: “Derk Boerrigter has trained for the first time in two-and-a-half months today. Tom Rogic is still injured."

Not giving much away, that's pretty much all i've been able to find recently. Hopefully there have been no setbacks.
