azzaMVFC wrote:Some more preseason action tonight for our English based lads. I'll have a look for streams later on. I've only had a look for senior listed players. Unsure if any youth/U21 players are playing or training with the senior squads.
Huddersfield Town vs Guiseley (Davidson) QPR vs Verona Stars (Luongo) Preston North End vs Chorley (Wright, Kilkenny) Crystal Palace v Barnet (Jedinak) Aston Villa v Fulham (not sure if Herd or Taggart travelled with their sides, playing over in Portugal as part of a tour)
All playing lower league clubs except QPR, so you'd expect all our boys if fit to feature.
All games kick off at midnight except QPR, they play at 2

Edited by azzaMVFC: 11/7/2015 11:26:55 PM Don't know what is happening with the games but Taggart and Burgess are in Portugal with Fulham Also elsewhere Irvine is back at Celtic but has not been involved at all in pre season and a week a go Ross County were again rumoured to be in for him lastly Brad Smith has not been included in Liverpool's travelling squad

Taggart and Burgess on the bench

Stuttgart lost 4:1 against Bern with Tyton in goal. Langerak might miss the season opener.

vincenzogold wrote:So what happened in the friendlies with luongo, Davidson etc everyone is playing different XI's each half atm so I would say you really can't read into squad position and both played a half each. Davidson kept a clean shear with it being 1-0 in his half and QPR went 3-0 up while Luongo was on. they went onto win 10-0 so he was in the worse half but the opposition were from lower division so it is hard to tell how their squad was split (if at all). Elsewhere Taggart and Burgess played a 2-1 half vs Villa. the goal they conceded seemed to be when a Fulham played got concussed from a ball to the face, play continued and he played a player onside. Taggart was involved in the second goal winning the ball, playing a through ball which was cut back and finished

azzaMVFC wrote:Seen a bit of Burns. Looked really lively off the bench, didn't have a lot of support though. The ref was really favouring them home side too. Burns clearly fouled a couple of times but no free kicks. yea, he looked slightly out of sync with some of his team-mates still but that should come right with time. He gave Tokyo a bit of impetus despite having a shitty free kick call and a shitty corner call go against him.

Curtis Good will travel with Newcastle on their American tour which includes a match against Portland Timbers.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Quote:Perth teen Danny De Silva to make dream debut for AS Roma against Real Madrid at the MCG DANNY De Silva has been included in Roma’s squad for Saturday night’s glamour clash with Real Madrid, with the 18-year-old on the brink of making a dream debut against Cristiano Ronaldo in front of a huge crowd at the MCG. The WA teenager will fly to Melbourne on Wednesday to link-up with his new Roma teammates, including 38-year-old legend Francesco Totti. De Silva was told this week he was in the squad and to be ready to play. The former Perth Glory midfielder will be the only Australian player involved in the three-match International Champions Cup pre-season tournament, which also features Manchester City, and he is likely to take his place on the bench for the Serie A giants. “To come on against Man City or Real Madrid in my first game for Roma, that would be ridiculous,’’ De Silva said. “If I get a run, it’s a debut for Roma in Australia. It would be a dream come true really. That would be perfect But even if I don’t, I’m really looking forward to the experience.’’ De Silva said it was great to be able to join his Italian club in his home country, but that meeting his superstar teammates would be no less daunting. “Because of how high-profile the players are, like Totti, I think even if I just met them at the shops it would still be pretty daunting and pretty amazing,’’ he said. “I’m probably equally excited and nervous.’’ De Silva was nine when Totti scored the penalty that knocked Guus Hiddink’s Socceroos out of the 2006 World Cup, in the most controversial moment in Australia’s soccer history. The teenager said meeting and training with the one-club icon, one of the most revered figures in the Italian game, would be a highlight. “I’ve been thinking about it for a long time,’’ an excited De Silva said. “Once it happens it will be a great moment for me and obviously it will be great to be able to speak to him.’’ It will continue a whirlwind year for De Silva. who turned 18 in March and was called into his first Socceroos squad last month. http://www.news.com.au/national/western-australia/perth-teen-danny-de-silva-to-make-dream-debut-for-as-roma-against-real-madrid-at-the-mcg/story-fnii5thn-1227438980490

None of his teammates know him, the coach probably thinks he is the work experience kid. Then he comes on with 5 minutes left, gets the ball in midfield, quick nutmeg, around another, then curls it in top corner past the outstretched hands of the keeper. Melbourne goes crazy. Even hollywood couldnt come up with this sort of script!
