All I've heard is Ipswich and Tokyo. Strange that we've heard nothing about him considering that he was supsedly very hot property just before he confirmed his Utrecht departure.

Scoring the 12 goal in a 14-0 win. :D

I can see couple of Primavera names in the lineup, but can't see anything to say that this isn't a senior friendly.

Don't know how reliable HITC are but they are linking Brad Smith with a loan move to Ipswich

Just had a look through the Aston Villa match thread on the Fulham forum. No mentions of Burgess' performance, but some decent praise of Taggart. Although, some fans aren't yet certain that the club won't bring in another starting striker.

That would be huge. Only 26, a current Socceroo and fresh from Europe starting. Just give us the CL.

Tomi Juric in talks with Legia Warsaw over potential transfer
Date
July 12, 2015 - 10:02PM
Sebastian Hassett
Football reporter

Socceroos star Tomi Juric could finally be about to settle on his new club, having flown to Poland to meet with representatives of Ekstraklasa powerhouses Legia Warsaw.

It's understood that Juric arrived in time to see Saturday's Polish Super Cup final between league champions Lech Poznan and cup champions Legia, with the home side emerging triumphant 3-1 in front of over 40,000.

The 23-year old then travelled to Warsaw that night to meet with authorities to discuss his potential move to the 10-time league champions, who won two of the past three titles before being pipped by Lech Poznan by a single point last season.

Juric had been linked with a move to Belgian club Standard Liege last month but it is understood the club's interest cooled and the striker had to look elsewhere.

However, the forward has been considering a multitude of offers from across Europe and Asia after announcing his plan to leave the Western Sydney Wandrerers at the end of the season.

In his memorable two-year stint with the Wanderers, Juric finished with 12 goals in 34 matches, going on to cement himself as a Socceroos mainstay during his time with his hometown club.

Despite battling this injury and form - plus the arrival of Kerem Bulut late in the season - Juric was never short of admirers after scoring the goal that won the Asian Champions League for the Wanderers and then brilliantly setting up James Troisi's Asian Cup winner barely two months later.

The Wanderers had accepted a $1.6 million transfer offer from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua during the Asian Cup but after that deal collapsed, the striker would end up leaving the club for nothing when his contract expired in May. Now it's possible the Polish club could be about to land him for free.

Missing out on the championship meant Legia also missed out on qualifying for the UEFA Champions League, instead having to settle for a spot in the UEFA Europa League Second qualifying round.

They have been drawn to face Romanian side Botoșani, the first leg of which takes place on Thursday at Legia's home ground, the impressively renovated 31,000-seat Polish Army Stadium.

But the move for Juric has come as a surprise for some observers in Poland, given Legia only this past weekend signed Serbian Aleksandar Prijovic, a 25-year old striker who has been prolific in recent stints in Sweden and Turkey.

Should Juric sign, he will also have to compete with Hungarian striker Nemanja Nikolić and established Polish international Marek Saganowski, plus highly rated teenager Adam Ryczkowski.

Poland hasn't been a regular stop for Australians in Europe, although ex-Socceroo midfielder Jacob Burns made a strong impression with Wisla Krakow - a club which also briefly hosted Perth defender Michael Thwaite - before returning to home to play in the A-League.

"Current Socceroo" is a bit rich. Word is Archie is currently in your marquee position until, if at all, the vet. exemption goes through... so is no way to even sign him. Good luck but.

Plus, Holland never played for Roar.

Foad Legia but seriously that's a great move. I was worried that he'd be overconfident and try to force a move to a bigger league/club which might have been too much for him.

The Polish league is a good level for him and he's at a big club so he should be getting plenty of goals if he keeps fit. They also have a couple of games in europe each year. Play well anywhere in Europe and scouts take notice.
