Apparently was a 50-50 chance to play Bayern over the weekend but didn't quite make it.

Stuttgart desperately need to make changes or they are destined for relegation so I suspect the Aussies will get some game time but they have to hit the ground running of they'll be thrown to the wolves if they keep losing and are threatened by relegation.

Schwarzer played for Leicester's U21s overnight. He is literally more than double the age of 21 and would be old enough to be most of those lads fathers.

Seems to be in the back half where all their problems are though (equal fifth in terms of goals scored, dead last in terms of goals conceded). If Langerak comes in an does well they could easily pull up into the middle of the pack. Edited by loki: 11/11/2015 12:36:13 PM

I can't see them doing much more than surviving unfortunately.

Look I may have expressed this in the wrong manner but the fact a 42 is playing u21s is a disgrace. I don't mind him chasing the dosh but at least play in the oil leagues. Holding on to a dream of playing in the epl ever again is sad. And i would argue he is a 4th string keeper now if he is in u21s.

He would have the easiest job in the world getting paid heaps to do bugger all.
I would stay too. Nothing to prove, already had a great career, can retire there and still be regarded an Aussie hero and get paid more. He might also go into coaching and enjoy playing with the U-21s.

And i would argue he is a 4th string keeper now if he is in u21s. Yes it's sad, but if it lets him keep on doing what he loves, who gives AF?! Did Grant Brebner go back to Scotland to play Scottish 4th division just because he wasn't getting picked here anymore? Nah, he f***ing loves Melbourne so he stayed.

Who cares, he wants to stay in England, he's got his young family there, I'm sure he'll come back when he retires. He doesn't owe us anything.
PS: Maybe he should go to Watford U21s and be managed by Harry? :)

This is one of the funniest things I've read on 442.:d Schwarzer at 40 odd playing for the under 21s. I thought he'd retired. It doesn't seem like he is going to return to live in Oz anytime soon. After the 2006 WC in Germany, I think Cahill, Schwarzer and Neill made a special trip back to Australia to increase the profile of football. It is interesting to see what they've done in the last few years comparatively. I'd like see Socceroos with 20 plus games get some sort of public presentation at Socceroo matches before the event. Since the public promo trip in 2006, Lucas was forced to retire because nobody wanted him. Supposedly about to play NPL. Timmy is chasing the dollar. Mark is playing Under 21 football in England.
