Certainly don't think players who aren't Aussies should be in this thread. Are we going to report on all HAL foreigners who do well overseas? Where do we draw the line?

Why not create an Olympic football thread? I find it hilarious that Brazil couldn't even beat Iraq at home with Neymar and co.

How do you edit posts?

The vid also shows Mabil's send off.

Mabil is really getting a bad track record of off the ball incidents and it's getting to a point where he needs to be identified as the common denominator. I remember posting on here that he was an overly aggressive little shit a couple of seasons ago when he smashed Mile Sterjovski over the sideline in the last game of the season. He also tried to shape up to Alex Brosque in the game against SFC - and that was BEFORE the incident with Petkovic. Then he lost his mind at Petkovic for trash talking him. Now he has a red in his debut for Esjberg.

And that's just incidents that I can recall off the top of my head. I mean - Brosque and Sterj? They have to be two of the least aggressive players in the A-league.

The guy is showing he has a temper that he can't control and that he's a liability on the pitch.

Now that you point them all out he really needs to pull his head in. I never realised and he has that good guy look about him. Don't need another Bulut. A player with a shit load of talent but wastes it all.

But the Mabil video shows he didn't do anything...at the very worst a yellow, and that would be debatable...

It's true about him needing to cool down but that was barely worthy of a yellow, let alone red.

Two friendlies later on. Sturm Gratz v Kayserispor and Leverkusen v Offenbach. Hopefully Kruse gets some minutes... could be time for a loan.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Updates on Smith and Irvine.

Nigel Clough confirms Burton Albion record signing Jackson Irvine will start in EFL Cup against Bury

BURTON Albion record signing Jackson Irvine will make his Brewers bow tomorrow when Albion take on Bury at the Pirelli Stadium in the EFL Cup. The Brewers smashed their club record fee twice in a week to first bring in Kyle McFadzean from relegated MK Dons before Irvine arrived from Ross County days later.

The central midfielder caught the eye in pre-season with impressive performances across the middle of the park, both in front of the back four and in making runs towards the box with the ball. And Brewers fans should get their first glimpse of Irvine in an Albion shirt in a competitive game when the Shakers visit the Pirelli.

"Jackson Irvine will definitely play having missed Forest through suspension," said Albion boss Nigel Clough. "If we'd had him I think we would have got something but he'll make his debut on Wednesday night and we'll see how the others react too.

"It was a very warm day on Saturday and it takes a lot out of you. Now we've got two home games on the Saturday and Tuesday (after Bury) and not to belittle any cup competition, but they're more important for us."

Smith an exciting addition - Boss

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe says he is excited by the addition of Australia international Brad Smith this summer.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe says he is excited by the addition of Australia international Brad Smith this summer.

The 22-year-old joined from Liverpool for around £3m in July and he is the oldest of the six new players who have come to the club this summer. Howe told the Echo: "We are excited by Brad. I think he is a player of real athletic qualities. We have already seen in the two home friendlies how much ground he has covered. He very much fits the mould of the attacking full-back we like.

"Like any young player, he would have things he would need to work on and improve. But he is a player of great character and has fitted in really well to the squad.

"Hopefully, he will prove to be a very good signing."

Smith is likely to be in the starting line-up for the opening Premier League game of the season on Sunday when Manchester United are the visitors to the Vitality Stadium.

Gallifuoco was really disappointing during his time in Australia given his perceived pedigree coming from the swansea academy. He could possibly argue that he never really got a crack at Victory but i did really expect more

i think its perfect for him now, to start fresh in a low league , gain minutes, play well at a proud club like Torquay and show us all why he is an Australian U23.

About Mooy, if you look on the Huddersfield forum they have been saying he looks like a Premier League midfielder, so not just biased Australians saying it.

About Mooy, if you look on the Huddersfield forum they have been saying he looks like a Premier League midfielder, so not just biased Australians saying it.

And yet he just commanded a midfield in a loss to a League 1 side.

Now, we can either look at this from the perspective of

a) people of the same nationality as him that want him to do well because he plays for our national team
b) people that follow the club that he currently plays for and want him to do well because they want their club to do well
c) objectiveness

Laughable claims made by the like of inala that his "premier league class" was showing in friendlies was happening before. Now less than a week into the season Mooy's been involved in a loss to a League 1 side.

The great thing about objectiveness is that it's objective.
