Ryan bench . Amini got 60 and Ikonomidis 90 in a 6:2 win. No goals but maybe some assists and good play.

+x+xSpira's CSL team drew its final game and got relegated. Hope he's heading to somewhere better soon. Gone for sure. If he wants to go to Russia he won't be playing in the Chinese second div. Yeah that's awesome it will force him to move he had offers from France last time round it would be a good destination for him. Sainsbury should be looking to move as well with the South Korean international who played in the bundesliga looking to be the more favored. China is not a place you want to be sharing minutes the standard is far to low

I am not surprised with the 11 aerial duels. Being a Villan I thought a local derby game would be a good match to watch ... but alas both teams were happy lobbing the ball in long from their own half (not far off being a volleyball match). Jedinak's main play was sitting deep in the midfield and kicking any balls that came his way as far up the field as possible (the opposition would then return serve ... it would bounce around a bit then hit back over the net, I mean half way line). I can't see Jedinak keeping his starting spot in the Socceroos given the style of play Villa do ... unless we need a game to sit deep and defend (given Ange's "winning" mentality" I see him becoming a bench player to add steel to the defense when we are up or holding on to a game, unless of course Villa change course and learn to pass the ball to players.

Yeah right like the classico 2005/2006 when ronaldinho dribbled the whole team and scored a hatrick for barca to the standing ovation of the entire Real Madrid bench.

So Jedi may have won a lot of duels and clearances in the derby, but my god look at his passing accuracy...38% !!! Meanwhile take a look at Jackson Irvine's passing accuracy from Burton's 2-0 loss to Leeds on the weekend: I will accept that, while i was only able to watch the 1st half, it was primarily a hoof and hope game, but for me comparing the stats of the two highlights exactly why Jedi can be detrimental to the Socceroos and Ange's game plan, and why Irvine deserves a start for the Roos in the very, very near future.

Kev Muscat needs to revert to British style football every now and then. He lacks alternate formations.

That's something about Irvine I've wondered about - do we assume he is a good defender just because he's a big unit? From highlights he seems pretty comfortable with the ball at his feet, but can anyone confirm he actually defends well enough to screen the back 4? I haven't seen enough of him play yet.

I've seen these sorts of questions so much on 442 and to be fair, I don't think any of us have really seen him play enough to be making very good judgements about his game. I've seen at the most 2-3 games he's played outside his cameos for the socceroos, and with the lack of televised games in the championship, this is really tough for us to gauge.
