They already had space in the cap for one more player, take Danny away and add his remaining salary to what was left, should be enough room to squeeze Archie under the cap. If they think Archie has another year in him, they might even offer to give him a longer deal in return for lower pay (ie $600k over for 2 years, rather than $400k for one year), thus easing pressure on the cap.

If he's willing to fit under the cap, take a random squad number, and work hard for his spot at both Victory and subsequently the Socceroos in whatever way Ange wants him to, I don't see why not.

I had to break a contract for a job in Moscow last year because my Grandpa was due to shuffle off any minute. One year on and he's still taking his sweet time! It happens.

Quite possible the mother-in-law has told Harry to look after himself and not worry about her - short career - don't let it end just because of me - etc. Mother's can be pretty bloody heroic, and all that.

The only reason he couldn't get a club in England was because he was asking too much and didn't want to play for a Championship IIRC.

She was in a poor state for the majority of last season too IIRC, might even be possible that H could leave his family in the UK to stick with the mother in law while he comes back. I know Harry is a family man but if something doesn't happen for him soon this could be the end of his career.

I believe it's the first rather than the second. I doubt he'd care which club or league it was, so long as the money was right.

Yeah it's understandable, if you're terminally ill you don't want to be feeling guilty knowing your son-in-law sacrificed his one in a million career just for the company. All wild speculation of course.

Actually this was all speculation... Harry really hasn't said a word since he left the country, and no-one knows what's going on.

No club has come out and said "We wanted Harry but he wanted too much." or "Harry didn't want to play championship football."

He went to England and made it clear that he was looking for a club. He IS a good footballer, it doesn't make sense that no-one would make an offer... So one has to assume that any interest was met with his demands and scared clubs off.
