+x+x+xYou make a good point Footballluv, having the combined points system works well imo as you say its making sure not just the 1st squad gets the focus but the other 2 grades. A overall club effort. This force's clubs to work harder with their 18's 20's and developing future 1st players. Yer you were very lucky Northbridge. Be interesting to watch how the Brumbies handle it up there and how Fraser re group being relegated. Fraser are spending a fortunate. Apparently $70,000 on the 3 coaches and plenty of money for the first grade squad. I think they'll neglect the 20's and 18's to some degree and miss out on promotion. We've got the Portuguese Cup early next year so it will be interesting to see how good they are. I went to their first trial and they way it was organised was very poor.  Who play in the Portuguese Cup? Fraser Park, Dulwich Hill, Kemblawarra Fury and an invited team. Only the clubs formed by Portuguese migrants in NSW. I've heard there's a 1-2 in Queensland.

That coach has gone on to Balmain U18's.

thought and facts are not the same eh but here's my short brief. They played/pressed high but were caught out many times due to this.... Lost the plot when opponents retained the ball for periods getting frustrated. Countless yellows (41 fyi), tackles from behind and sheer bad sportsmanship..... Sure they played well when allowed but leaked under the pump. Their CB's didn't have a clue and I suppose their CM's or formations couldn't cope as well..... GF 43 GA 42 Says it all about YL in U16's last season, mind you finished 5th with those stats. 4th Rydalmere GF 47 GA 45. 3rd place had 20 less scored against them...... The top 3 of 15 were a cut above the rest when it came to tactics/skills/shape, imo Raiders should have won it but I expect hot hotheadedness cost them dropping a couple of key games, their passion/pace and play was impressive but they enjoyed pushing their size around that would have costed at key moments......

We've signed Lopes from Hakoah, seemed to score a few last season, should be a decent signing.

Fair enough. It definitely wasn't a perfect squad but they were good for NPL 3 standards. I had a few train up and play up during the end of the season. I didn't watch the top 3 teams but I did notice the ladder and how far ahead they all were.

+xWe've signed Lopes from Hakoah, seemed to score a few last season, should be a decent signing. Former Dully boy. I'm a bit surprised because Hakoah gave him an opportunity when he was 17-18 in NPL 3. He is a good ball player and would definitely be better suited to a team that plays a possession based game. Hakoah were more about power and grit and I don't think it will change under the new coach.

Another club formed by Portuguese migrants.. they play in a local competition in Brisbane. There are also social clubs in Darwin (there are a lot of people from Timor Leste there) and Perth. I'm not sure if they also have football clubs aligned with the social club. Next years competition will be in the last weekend of January at Fraser Park and in 2018 it will most likely be in Brisbane.

Eddie Moore - Goooone. Stefan Kamasz in on a temporary basis
Seems like a shift of power on the board after last years attempted uprising. I wonder who'll get the job on a permanent basis?

I wonder who'll get the job on a permanent basis? im assuming you are a person in a position etc with the new board/ceo etc will this change anything for the clubs or will fnsw still take it up the behind by the ffa

Wow, that's a first, FNSW releasing the draw so early, normally they only do it a couple of weeks before. Perhaps taking a note from NPL Victoria. Cracking first half of the season draw, look forward to the new season already!

Yeah very true. In a week earlier than Victoria in the end. About time FFNSW took a leaf out of their book. So much better run down there.

FNSW are the greatest administrators in football history compared to that lot

Say what you want but they have an administration that looks after 7 leagues all connected by promotion/relegation and that in itself is a win for them over us. and thats just the senior mens!

Ive got a lot of mates deeply involved in football down there. The horror stories you hear almost weekly are unbelievable. Just look at all the recent board upheaval as a start. Then go back to when they were setting up their NPL (1 year late) FNSW are definitely far from great, but they're amazing compared to FFV. Particularly when it comes to the NPL. Getting fixtures out a couple of months early doesnt make up for everything else.

Not really, i thought you would struggle with the more physical sides, however that wasn't the case, both A-league clubs scored lots of goals. I wouldn't be surprised to see you be close to making finals.

Maso Cup for us will be our first preseason hit out. 27-29 Jan. No signing news from us. Seems like it's all pretty quiet at the moment...
