Don't forget the cup which is about 2-3 rounds at this time of the year. It could be 2 months of double headers for seniors. The rest of the age groups will probably get canned.

At the moment it is 4 weeks, with games starting 2 weeks after that, but listening to the PM this morning I expect it will be longer and I would be surprised if we re-start this side of June

One thing FNSW could do is cancel the finals and just continue the season from round 3 if we go ahead in April/May.

season is over, it will never start again.

i think what should happen is move it to a summer comp, start in august, right through to December.... have a little break and start again in late feb early march.

I wonder what happens re Jobkeeper payments for players? Clubs are a business. Clubs can show 30% reduction of revenue, and players therefore can claim $750 a week (which would be an increase to some, but as we all know, a big decrease on some weekly wages!)

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m really missing watching my club play every week. I totally agree with the reasons why we have no football, but after such a long off season the few weeks of games hasn’t been enough. Has anyone heard any new updates on any return or possible solutions for the 2020 season?

I'm missing the football as well. From what I've heard, Football NSW is speaking to clubs - some may not want to play out the season in terms of the seniors due to lack of money. Maybe no pro/rel this season. I know we've lost 3 players in the first team who have all returned home.

If it is going to be a half baked season, cancel it. Trials start in September/October anyways.

yes agreed - trials Oct normally but under the circumstances evrything should be pushed back a month at least imo.
This is what I've seen so far for Club football :
  • 6 team competitions will play two rounds with a finals round robin over 4 weeks
  • 8 team competitions will play two rounds with a first past the post Premier. If we can access the fields on the weekend of 10/11 October we will play a 1 v 2 Grand Final, but this will need to be confirmed
  • 10 team competitions will play one round then split into 2 conferences based on ladder position (1, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 2, 3, 5, 7, 9) and play another 4 matches with first past the post Premiers based on a full season ladder. If another weekend is possible, then a 1 v 2 grand final will be played
  • PL is as per the 10 team competitions, but a 1v2 GF will be played at Christie Park on 10 Oct
  • SL is as per 8 team competitions with a 1 v 2 GF on 10 Oct
  • Washed out rounds will not be rescheduled
It may not be what some wish for and others think I'm out, NWSF have mentioned players can opted out and refunded and Teams can as well and IF any new ones wish to join in can do.
There is cut off etc dates mentioned.
Injuries sure will be an issue more so for local club players, I went for my first kickaround late yesterday since all was put on hold, I was sore as last night and this morn but felt great having a run again.

Son told me yesterday his PL2 club annouced 3 trainings starting this week.

So looks like all age community sport will be allowed from July 1. Be good if the NPL could now get on the front foot with a start date of any description.

We also saw NPL NT had fans back last weekend so hopefully we won’t be far away here either.

I hope that if FNSW make the announcement for the return of senior football, we get a clear picture of the length of the season, pro/rel and other regulations. I've lost 4 players and I've been told I can't sign anyone despite the window currently being opened.

Not sure this is true........

I know we've been given the word July 4/5 is the intended start of comp in the NSFA.

Sounds about right.  The NPL1 admin people I know are very non committal about returning, they will if they have to however they won't be too fussed if they don't have to.

Don't think they'll be forced, imo good but doubt will happen.
All about the money, the over inflated prices many 1st's are paid is not sustainable now, money goonnnnnnnnnnnnnnne.

The other PL1 Club willing to play with PL2's was Manly that escaped my mind the other day.
On The Clean Sheet think I noticed someone from SC said was willing to as well.

For me its just play all you other Pl1 clubs, get out have a gallop, strange circumstances never happened before get back and enjoy and make supporters happy were out there watching you.
Come to an agreement on a revised comp foremat and accept its 1 in 100 or 1000yrs what happened winners are grinners relagated ones are never happy such is life.
