Hmm interesting, we still need a 2nd striker because they have told Proia to find another club. I still feel we should be promoting from within first. Some guys have been in the youth team for 3-4 years. Either promote them or release them and give some new kids a try. Because if they haven't shown anything in 4 years, why would they start to change that.

I'm sorry, but this is not okay. Our league cannot be signing non-professional players unless they're being promoted from the state league. We are beyter than that. League 1 is above A-League standard if you ask me and Nix being a target for a club just goes to show that.

Smeltz was 2 divisions above where Nix has been playing. We cannot be signing players from the English 7th division.

Smeltz was in the 5th tier but he had a record of 2 goals in 31 games there. Many people on this same forum laughed at that record he had and what a plodder he must be. He proved them all wrong.

When he was at AFC Wimbledon though prior to Halifax that was in the 7th tier.

Where'd you get that from? According to his wikipedia page he's playing in third tier Belgium, and before that he was with Tamworth in the Conference.

@Aussie pride, i understand what you're saying, but it's a pain to see clubs scouting so low.

Conference North/South is the 6th tier, and even if Tamworth were in the 6th tier they wouldn't be in the conference south as opposed to the conference north so I'm not sure where you got that from :? But I think you're point still stands, the A-League is past the stage where clubs should be looking at Aussies and Kiwis playing non-league football in England.

Tamworth FC play in the 5th tier of English football. Thats the one below the pro leagues, where more and more players are going because the money is pretty similar and they can get a career too. The fella was playing with Bradford a couple of seasons ago. He has represented England on the international scene since he was 15 and playing with Man Utd, so some one obviously saw something special in the guy. Give him a chance I think you'll be impressed.
