"Rebel clubs plan to establish a breakaway football body to be called the Association of Football Clubs Victoria."

I think we all agree that the FFV have made some ignorant mistakes in setting up this new NPL comp but establishing a new breakaway football body not sure if thats the answer. get them in a room and find a compromise

I know the clubs in England have sub junior squads and by all accounts NSW clubs have kept theirs.

the question has to be asked why so different in Vic?

Thanks for the advice Arthur its just very frustrating when people behind desks cause so much friction within the community that could be easily avoided

I agree with this SAP program they should be getting it out to every club for free or minimal cost instead they have gone the opposite direction and used it as a sales pitch and selling it as exclusive to justify the removal of thousands of kids from their clubs

The fact that they are trying to make it exclusive says enough, it should be for everyone in victoria

Just run a weekend SAP course and get the local club coaches the information to help kids around victoria improve and let the NPL clubs keep the juniors

As I understand it, FFA intend SAP to reach all NPL clubs.

I am not clear where FFA intend SAP to go beyond all HAL and NPL clubs.

Agree Arthur and I realise there are other issues involved in this FFV NPL stuffup but it feels like a case of what could have been?

if only the juniors were allowed to stay I wonder if this would be in court at the moment?

Right now there is definitley a game of brinkmanship happening between clubs and FFV we have all been hoping the FFA would play the honest broker.

We just need to wait and see. ANd in future we need to participate in the political process.

Look at the big picture. The SAP kids in FNSW compared to the association "elite" kids is a massive difference. Kids having 3 sessions a week from accredited coaches with a gameplan and style of play they are all teaching plus game day, is having a massive effect. It's a great program.

As per NSW, i can't seem to understand why They are not allowing junior football and SAP. Seems crazy. FFV seem to want to create elite clubs, yet don't seem to have any support going their way. Telling the clubs to get rid of their revenue generating arms, but not offering an alternative. Doesn't make sense...

Well well well once you dig a little deeper the role of this SAP program in this dark period in Victoria football becomes more clear

Step 1 FFV bans any club applying for the NPL to have sub juniors teams basically forcing them to throw out their juniors. I wonder why?

Step 2 FFV in their financials allows a budget for SAP program in every NPL club

Step 3 FFV carefully use the word ‘manage’ SAP programs in their press release

Step 4 FFV dangle a carrot of this exclusive ‘management’ of the SAP program to the last couple of clubs that are actually still considering applying to imply they can make some money out of this program

Step 5 This is the real conniving part the FFV will control this program at every NPL club and then charge a fee for this privilege to ‘manage’ the SAP program. The fact that FFV will control this and then make money out of this is scary and sickening

I will give the SAP people some advice now, get off your behinds and run a FREE weekend SAP coaching course for every community club in Victoria then turn the TV off and get in your cars and each evening visit these clubs and support them to implement the program. Yes you will need to actually lower yourselves and speak with the ‘common folk’ from the clubs that are outside of your FFV delusional bubble. Dont be scared they wont bite!

Note the words FREE and SUPPORT which is what we all pay our kids registrations each year for!

As absurd as it sounds for those ignorant SAP people plotting this move there are capable and passionate people out there that with the right SUPPORT could easily handle running a program like this at the clubs without the need for this divisive powerplay

Then once you have landed back down on earth could you lower your ego and allow the NPL clubs to have their junior teams back. This would be a good starting point to demonstrate to the clubs that you are not against them but actually supporting and servicing their needs to ensure growth and prosperity for future years.

Jonesie just be careful with assertions on SAP people etc.
I truley understand the issues surrounding the FFV and the NPLV.
Lets not get in the trap of using SAP as a political football.
SAP is a program that should be widely available and at lowest cost, the current costs to provide it through the NPL is worring.

I cannot see any problem with FFV controlling the coaching content of SAP, but I'm perplexed as to why they want to try to make money out of it. What is happening in NSW where SAP is being implement in clubs?

Are FFNSW trying to make money from clubs out of SAP?

An issue with the SAP program moving forward will be cost from what I can discern D.

In Victoria SAP is a cost recovery program I beleive in the vicinity of $300 to $400.

Under NPL the cost will rise in NSW I know APIA charge $1500 I beleive the cheapest is around the $900 mark.

Krones pointed out that it is reaching $2,500 in Qld.
