shame if true, would have like to see atleast one game in adelaide.

you will most likely be waiting until 2015 to see that happen because next year the SA winner will take on the WA winner in Perth in the quarters first up. Then they will switch it between the two cities year to year.

So looks like it will be a Croatian derby Sydney United v Canberra FC :d

That's according to the Capital Football website at least who have Canberra FC ahead by 4 pts with 1 game left.

I wouldn't suppose the gap would be that big. Some quality in the Tassie league. Few and far between compared to VPL but we will see if that gap can be closed. You can't just isolated the smaller states because they may have huge talent.

Do you believe that ACTPL is better than TasPL? I have no idea on either state so it's a genuine question.

Nah was just basing it on that one is a Territory the other is a state :D

Based on previous history of recent practice games Victorian clubs have had against Tasmanian teams they will get thumped.

They lack for enough high intensity matches and consistent exposure to a bigger football poulation mass.

ACT being 200km from Sydney has access to a larger player pool and you could add the surrounding rural base. They also have acces to the AIS in coaching terms.

But the gap wouldn't be that big.

I suppose one of the stratergies of this competition is that it falls in the overal theme of raising playing standards via NPL structures, with the assumption that exposing the smaller states (or playing pools) to the larger will assist in evening out the playing standards universally over time.

At the very least they should find a way to stream them

Well Cairns is streaming their last home game of the season this weekend so I can only imagine it's very doable (and cheap?).

Absolutely, doesn't mean that they'll do it though. :p

I'd be surprised if the State Federations would be happy to get rid of their showpiece games

Well they must still exist as NPLQ is starting their finals soon.

They will still have their retrospective finals, but only the Premiers qualify for the National Finals.

Maybe when the other feds get on board they might open it up to GF winners as well (and or runners up) as then it would make it a 16 team comp.

But that's a lot of travel to consider.

Surely they could replace them with state cup matches becoming more important with FFA Cup qualification on the line?
