This is a snooze fest. Needs some drama to wake the players up.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

About to head off for a cheeky snack pack then walk across to the game. Feels damn cold and wet, so will be interesting to see what crowd turns out. Then again, my wife and 3 year old daughter are watching ballet outdoors at the Regatta centre in Penrith tonight so if that can get a decent crowd, weather should be no excuse.

Playing on a potato patch levelled the difference in class a bit but Adelaide were still a class above for most of that game. That said Bentleigh put in a good effort.

If Anastasiadis returns to South I reckon that’s just about curtains as far as Bentleigh being a force goes.

Plenty of Row Z efforts thanks to the bobbles. Halloran dribbling down the wing like it's a yo-yo. Magic.

+x+xMassive night tonight. Get around Bentleigh v Adelaide. If you are in the area get out to it. Its free to print out your tickets online too. I was considering going but $25 plus BF isn't really worth it. Might as well just grab a kebab and watch it at home. Fair play

Because here we are trying to just get on with a game of footy, and it gets bogged down in all these ancient cultural feuds about sandwiches

+x2018 NPL national Grand Final result: Campbelltown City 2 defeated Lions FC 1 at Steve Woodcock Sports Centre (crowd attendance: 1,518) Campbelltown City automatically qualifies for the 2019 FFA Cup round of 32 by virtue of being 2018 NPL national champions and it will be Campbelltown City's first appearance in the FFA Cup round of 32 next year. Congrats Campbelltown. Well done! That's big for them and will give them something to really shoot for next season now. A big cameo in the cup.

+xFriday October 5th 7.30pm Bentleigh Greens v Adelaide United at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex Saturday October 6th 7.30pm Western Sydney Wanderers v Sydney FC at Penrith Stadium Good venue for football, still baffled why the Wanderers went to Souless Stadium instead of choosing this one or Campbelltown.

+x+xIt’s boring playing the same team so much let along having a derby all the time it’s like having your birthday four times a year There is only so much manufactured hatred and rivalry that you can muster for any given year. Honestly, I don't even care about the result anymore and I'd be happy if we won the Cup or if not, then an NPL club. Win or lose we will always follow you?

First off, kudos to APIA. Small squad imo punching above their weight but they have had a huge long season making the GF and the big giant FFACup killer knocking off MV. Losing leading PL scorer Jordan Murray last month of the regular season to CCM at the time was a big hole that couldn't be filled. Again kudos to them they were hanging on till Goodwins brilliant strike. Anyway onto the next fixtures. Hoping Bentleigh can do Adelaide on the base's of my support for PL. The local Derby, how it worked out I'm fine with it, bring it on and will be good to see where these fresh squads are really at and preview whats to come in the season. Penrith is a big of a hike but no worries look forward to it.

+x+xA derby semi final means there will be 3 Sydney derbies before we even get to 2019 ffs. BUT THE METRICS! Haha was gonna say exactly the same thing. However, I can see crowds dropping below 30k by the 3rd one.

Credit where credit is due at least they put the fixture in an appropriate venue. Either Campbelltown or Penrith is perfect to get a highly passionate crowd in with an intimate feel for this fixture. Playing it anywhere else would’ve ruined the tie.
