+xFair enough Melbcityguy 👍Personally I can live with Roar playing other sides 4 times in a league season as they do in Scotland and I wouldnt care who we were playing in the cup, as long as we’re still playing and not bombing out in R1 regularly. I just want more than 27 games, more teams in the comp (and yes, 16 teams/30 games looks to be a good sweet spot) and I want pro/rel to a viable second division. Another Sydney derby doesn’t bother me, it’s seems kind of a first-world complaint that’s all. Just hope they can pull a good crowd. Roars only contribution to the Cup this year has been a 6,000+ crowd - be nice to see these guys double that. Waz, I agree 100% people just want complain, it was a random draw, how can they complain, what they wanted FFA to rig the draw so it wouldn't happen? Jesus people get a grip, stop your constant whining, you sound like children

Agree to disagree.
At least with they sydney derby it’s coming straight after the other grand finals. We’ve been starved of football and hopefully this gives the a league some momentum coming into the start of the season

+xNah. I’m not buying it. You’re havin’ a whinge out of habit. Ray GATT is going off like a spud on Twitter. Several people pointed out this happens in Europe and his response was “we’re not Europe” ... all he needed to add in there was “we’re unique” and the lowy-esk “we’re not actually a football nation” speak was complete. If the SFC/WSW fans can’t get excited about putting one over on their biggest rivals in a cup semi-final then having the chance to gloat about it three weeks later then Fark, they’re not really rivals and they might as well stick buckets on their heads I'm excited to see if we can get one over Eastern Suburbs Football Club. Babbel vs Corica and no Arnie intimidation factor. New defence vs De Jong and Le Fondre Better attack with Alex Baumjohann linking with Riera plus Bonevacia scoring goals again at left wing. And hopefully not at Sydney Olympic Park Club email at midday about ticketing. I'm hoping for a red and black stadium. Riot and Public Disorder squad will be out in force though.

+x+xGeez, talk about first world problems. Do we have to complain about how many times we play each other with monotonous regularity, other countries seem to deal with it? In Scotland they’re used to playing each other 4 times in the league and often meeting in the league cup and the Scottish Cup. They survive even though they can face the same opponent 6 times in a season, 7 if there’s a replay. So now there’s an extra Sydney derby this year folks, DON’T PANIC, latte’s will still be served in the mornings The only real question is .... are WSW capable of winning a f’kin Sydney derby?? Form says not ... I live in what is still technically classed a second world country. 4, possibly 5 derbies in a season - a derby every 6 weeks - is shit. We need 14 teams in the league. That should be a home and away series (26 rounds) plus finals.

Penrith was also the game where i saw Scott Jamieson get a yellow card for holding back the Roar's version of Harry HiPants in a R32 FFA Cup game. Aloisi copped a lot of s*** that night. 1-0 to the Wanderers.

I was at the last derby at Parramatta and that was a crazy night where the NSW Police Riot Squad had to surround the Cove. Back to a small venue but i wouldn't put it past the FFA to move it to Stadium Australia which would be crap.

+x+xPenrith has a capacity of 22,500 with 8,100 seats. It has way more seats than that surely. Behind both goals could not possibly fit 14,400 people, they are tiny ends. There is a total of about 3,150 sq m of standing area at the ends and the Green Guide allows 4.7 people per sq m for a standing football crowd so the capacity of the ends of the ground is about 14,500.

On the website it does say 8k seated which can't be wrong, but I do agree with you that it looks to be more. I would have guessed 14k before I found out it was 8k.

+xPenrith has a capacity of 22,500 with 8,100 seats. Really? That's awesome considering the choice of stadiums available. Can't complain one bit best choice in my opinion.

+xIs this the first time Sydney have been drawn against an A-League team? In a semi? Yes. South Melbourne and Canberra Olympic previously.
