Where are you staying in Dubai? It is good to go car perving, also check out Atlantis. Great nightlife.

I just had a week in Denmark, great place.

This is not that far, but has anyone been here->

Apart from French women escaping the miserable winter in France. Is there anything interesting about this place?

My wife went about 7 years ago. Did a month around europe. She said that yeah people go out but its not a piss up trip like contiki. She isn't much of a drinker and just did what she wanted. She went with a friend who liked the booze but it still wasnt out of hand. She says you can make it what you want.

Awesome, thanks for help :)

Hmmm... maybe it's just me but i love going to Adelaide. The weather is good, there's lots of different faces to the city AND it has the weatsheaf hotel.

None of these things are in Auckland.

I've been working my arse off for the last few weeks, just kicking back here for a few days before the game before I head out is doing me a world of good. :)

Yeah I've only spent a week in Auckland for work and play and it's nothing like Adelaide apart from it's size. I didn't hate my time there, the harbour was nice and the office I was situated in Takapuna had a top notch view of the boats sailing about. That part has a Sydney feel to it.

Heading down the island and spending time in Rotorua and Taupo (only had a weekend) was awesome though. Looking forward to taking my kids there one day.

Had been doing the same for flights home to OZ in June. Happy to say I did it and will be home in 3 weeks for a visit. It is a holiday and going home in one. I need a break from the Euro football season. It's been a long one. I'm sure the Euro summer will have a poor start so I won't miss much.

Mates and I are getting more and more decisive about a trip to NYC later this year too. Ideas are developing well and we're all keen. Just a simple ocean hop from Germany really.

Where is home for you in Australia?

NSW Central Coast.

Nice! If you're keen for a catch up when you're over, give me a buzz! Bet we can get a few forum regulars keen.
I've just seen this now while doing a bit of reading. I've been and gone back. Damn I would've met up as all mates and family were working a lot of the time. Next time perhaps.

I'm a complete rookie. What are the pros/cons, do's/dont's?

I'm thinking of heading to Wellington in October for the first Jerks game and there's a few bnb's that are desirably-cheap for like a private room in an apartment or something.

Is there anything more to airbnb's then just booking it, organising pickup keys time, etc? As in can I just treat it as if I'm booking a normal hotel? Or are there things I should know?

Highly recommend airbnb. Never had a problem with any of the places I've booked there. You can essentially treat it like a normal hotel. Not much more than organising pickup times, etc. Have a google of the contact number that they give you to see if anything untowards pops up, but highly unlikely.

Always had a good time with airbnb places. Have always been clean and the people have been good.

Used airbnb in Kyrgyzstan and it was fantastic, would recommend it to anyone, having the local access made the trip.

Currently using airbnb in Japan and don't have a single complaint. One bloke even met up with us and took us to his favourite resteraunt on top if you have any problems they get back to you within an hour

Go back through the thread. I think I and a few others posted about it. I'm going back to the NYC apartment this year with two mates and the lady is charging $100 US a night. 33 bucks a head in NYC is insanely cheap nearly unheard of for the awesome place we get. If anyone is interested pm me and I'll give her Airbnb ad.

Its seen by everyone outside of Australia, and its Australia's most recognisable natural wonder, just like the most recognisable man made structure is the Opera House in Sydney.

One of my mates, arguably the most Strayan guy I know, did an Australian contiki tour. He said it was the greatest experience of his life. He got to see a bunch of Australia he always wanted to, plus he was on a bus with a dozen Swedish people who wanted to sleep with Australians  and he cleaned up
