Chielini is an idiot. Carried on during the game, carried on after the game (fair enough too) and now that Suarez has been banned says it's too harsh. What a bell end.

-PB FIFALONA confirmed any appeal would not suspend the ban. Corrected... Incredible they delay the ban for Barcelona, in what is a more serious issue, but they have no real evidence of a bite actually happening (even if it does look bad going by vision).

You can't give the guy a blanket ban from football for 4 months and then be like "well I guess he has learned his lesson this time..."

Uruguay would have been fancied to get past Colombia but without Suarez their attack will lack bite. In fact they look quite tame without Suarez.

For a third time punishment it still isn't enough imo. Guy should be forced to have pschy evals before he returns to the pitch. -PB

So he's banned until October 26th? That's 9 EPL games, 1 cup match (potentially two) and 3 Champions league matches - including 9 internationals that's a total of 22 games. They haven't left a lot of room for more serious infractions.

Also important to note that the 9 game ban for Uruguay is only official competitive matches, so means he's out of the Copa America next year as well.

Been confirmed now. 9 international games and 4 months from all football.
Fucking hell. He's also banned from entering any stadium Uruguay are playing in for 4 months.

He'll be banned for 10-12 international games. FIFA are unlikely to overstep their jurisdiction. And really Liverpool benefit from him being suspended from internationals, being that he won't have to travel half way across the world 5 times a season. Don't be surprised if the FA and UEFA request to have that ban extended worldwide and have it granted by FIFA. Unlikely. Look at the precedent set by Mauro Tassotti.
