Depends on what you're after. If you enjoy sitting in trafic or on a train for hours on end to go to work or any where reasonable, then sure a big city like Sydney or Melbourne is perfect for you. -PB

If you enjoy running a simple Fish and Chip shop, North Queensland is perfect for you.

You all are going to give me shit but I love Adelaide. Never been to Perth but I've heard its basically like Adelaide but better, From a non bias point of view I would probably say Melbourne.

the best place in Australia to live is IN Australia....i love all of it, i used to have offices in sydney, melbourne, brisvegas , perth and singapore, i loved travelling to these places, i did alot of work in adelaide and i loved it there as well......i prefer 4 seasons, so the really hot and humid places i can only manage for holidays, can't live there

I know this might be a generalisation and I've been to Melbourne heaps of times and lived in Sydney most of my life, but I find that Melbourne people are more friendlier than Sydney people. Sydney is a bit of a try hard L.A.

Sydney is a bit of a try hard L.A. When I explain Australia to Swedish people I say Melbourne is kinda like NY with fashion, shopping, events and restaurants. (More cosmopolitan) Sydney is like LA , beach, expensive, celebs, try hards Brisbane/ Qld is like Texas - self explanatory Edited by scott21: 30/10/2014 09:32:55 PM

i live in Perth right now, and i would only recommend it to people who have a solid paycheck. So expensive, the place im living right now is 3 bed, 2 bath and its 450 a week, the same place in QLD would be 300-350. Fucking miners.
