Is the difference their Pet Memberships being removed from the count?! Anyway, I guess you don't need to fret too much Davo, as the member count gets closer to the 2012/13 season start mark - IIRC that was around 85k? :-k Expect the usual surge come the week leading up to Round 1 and those signing up first couple weeks into the season too. Even despite Roar's uncertainty lingering, this expected late surge may well take the league's total much closer to 100k? :-k Edited by GloryPerth: 17/9/2015 03:00:48 AM

We're 18k away. Definitely possible but don't take it for granted. I don't know how the FFA thought the league was going to crack 130k then 125k members when the writing was on the wall with no club signing up any profile players. The issues surrounding Brisbane and Newcastle add up to no more than 10k in memberships, so even with that in mind we'd need to be at over 100k by now if we had any chance of hitting that 125k mark. We shall see how the next two weeks go. At this stage if we hit the rd 1 2013 fig of 86 I would be happy.

Not sure why it would have dropped, however CCM aren't selling pet memberships this year.

Here's the ad that played during the ad breaks for the Crows game last weekend. https://www.facebook.com/adelaideunitedfc/videos/10156269583670019/It's corny, but it worked \:d/

Also I accidentally clicked "memberships will decline from last year" when I didn't want to vote. Shit I can't change my vote ](*,)

I think the league will grow by more than the 5k Davo predicts, in the coming couple weeks - that's if most of the clubs grow by 2-3k each in that coming period. AU already grew by a thousand recently, so perhaps things aren't quite so dire? :-k

Apparently AU have grown by 900 or so since the A-League.com's tally. Phoenix have clearly grown by 400 or so in the past week. WSW, Glory and SFC are tracking similarly to last season. Jets and even City aren't too far off their marks from last season (Jets had an understandably slow start too)? Victory are tracking ahead and are already near max - that faster growth covers up for some of the slow growth elsewhere too. In a couple weeks, AU can still push to 7k or so, City and Jets 9k each, Glory to 6k, SFC to 11k, WSW will be capped and even Mariners pushing 5k again? There's always that late push, weeks leading up to the season and early season start itself.

The Mariners figure on that tally is out of date - the club's community manager posted on the Mariners forum on Friday: Pokes wrote:Membership packs were started to received today we have heard so if you ordered before August, you should have it early next week :)
Also, not sure where those membership figures are from, as today we hit 4,000 Members :)

Well this is the price you pay when the ffa have to pay the a-league players more. So when you say that the pfa have the game's best interest at heart, it's not really true is it when the opportunity cost is spending less on marketing the game.

Pretty disappointed that we have to cover Brisbane's slack. FFA shooting themselves in the foot not taking the licence from the Bakries. So many members yet to sign on because of the absolute circus that is surrounding the club.

I get my figures from a number of sources, sometimes from the mouth of the club directly. I can't remember in this instance whether I used the official figure or the one reported to me directly. The reason i'm doing the updates is because it creates a continuous discussion point. The official tally gets updated once a week and sometimes is very slow. I guess I could stop altogether but i think it's good to see the comparison compared to previous seasons.
