Davo, incase you missed it - rbs posted an update coming straight from the Mariners. They have just hit 4k: rbs wrote:The Mariners figure on that tally is out of date - the club's community manager posted on the Mariners forum on Friday: Pokes wrote:Membership packs were started to received today we have heard so if you ordered before August, you should have it early next week :)
Also, not sure where those membership figures are from, as today we hit 4,000 Members :) Davo1985 wrote:I revised it after i saw that the figure changed on the a-league site. I get my figures from a number of sources, sometimes from the mouth of the club directly. I can't remember in this instance whether I used the official figure or the one reported to me directly.
The reason i'm doing the updates is because it creates a continuous discussion point. The official tally gets updated once a week and sometimes is very slow. I guess I could stop altogether but i think it's good to see the comparison compared to previous seasons. All good - yeah, was just wondering. I'm glad that you do, do it, for the reasons you gave - good point of comparison and ofcourse with our charts we can add all sorts of additional measures, in regards to how they are tracking, as you have done. :) Edited by GloryPerth: 22/9/2015 01:33:03 AM

Total = 87,504
Total as of 11/10/2013 = 86,352 September 23, 2015 Adelaide United: 6,242 ( +2% on this time last season) Brisbane Roar: 3,638 ( -63.7%) Central Coast Mariners: 3,646 ( -11%) Melbourne City: 6,603 ( -16.65%) Melbourne Victory: 23,478 ( +22.7%) Newcastle Jets: 6,712 ( -11%) Perth Glory : 4,441 ( +3.4%) Sydney FC: 10,075 ( +3.46%) Wellington Phoenix: 2,518 ( -11.5%) Western Sydney Wanderers: 16,604 ( +5.27%) Total as of 23/9/2015 = 84, 237 ( -2.45%) A-League clubs overall aren't tracking soo badly now - the margin is tight overall and those within 15% of last season, that's within reasonable and the lead up to Round 1 surge will see a larger increase for clubs in the coming weeks. It's actually amazing the league is doing soo well, largely due to Victory, WSW and SFC following up well, due to success last season and/or fan loyalty/demand. Most clubs are there abouts with last season and Jets would be much closer, one suspects, if not for their delayed start - their membership count quite impressive now, perhaps as fans respond to the rejuvenated atmosphere under the FFA administration and Miller's regime. People have already discussed how 'Villa-Hype' measurably added an insta-hit of 1k members and that certainly seems to be the case, given how City are tracking minus that stimulus. Roar and their extenuating, unfortunate, turmoil has obviously affected and that's the only real differential. If not, then the league might be much closer to 90k by now and actually tracking ahead of this point last season. So no-need for all the scaremongering - given circumstances, the league is doing well. =d> Edited by GloryPerth: 23/9/2015 02:50:45 AM

As a Melbourne City member who follows our club closely, Id agree that the Villa hype did have a massive affect on our memberships last season.. So If anyone has the figures of about this time in 2013 id love to see how we are tracking vs the then heart membership #'s.

Would be an achievement to replicate last seasons numbers let alone beat them
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Victory have sold out of reserved seat memberships and not a murmur on here. Only negative stories, it seems...

I really do hope the Bakries get the boot otherwise this seasons attendances for Brisbane could be embarrassing.

But unless we hear something different at the fan forum on Wednesday night the Bakries look to be sticking it out for one more season. If that happens, as looks likely, I think memberships will stay way down (probably below 5,000) but game day attendances will depend on performances and results which, unless the Bakries invest in players, will be difficult with a squad that is 4-5 players short in numbers compared to its competitors (in fact at the moments it's one short of the minimum requirement which will be resolved if Corona has indeed signed for Roar).

Maclaren to save the day, I reckon. Hopefully once Newcastle is sold the FFA will take action. But it might be too late by then.

Capacity 40k? Maybe one day. Although if the sport continues to grow like this, I can see it happening long-term.

WE DA BEST \:d/ \:d/ Plus City should still have more growth this season. It'll all change once the Wanderers get a bigger stadium, they'll gain an extra 5000-10000 members. As long as they all keep growing, that's the main thing.
