I wouldn't be surprised if these kind of things are kind of 'on-hold' - not so much in the running of the club etc... obviously members still signing up or renewing, like elsewhere, even if maintenance elsewhere is struggling (Player wages, running costs for that NPL team or some such) - I guess it's all hanging on that sale to the local consortium and once that's sorted, they can re-jig the running to the way they prefer, probably some natural tweaking or adjustments, hopefully for the better - obviously stream-line and fix this previously mal-administered club it seems. Then they may be happier to be a little more transparent about these things? Especially if disillusioned supporters and hold-outs get back on-board with enthusiasm - then they may have member figures they'd want to shout about again, I'm sure!

surely they would be amping up the interest for renewals/new members while suncorp is sold out tomorrow night though.

Do we know where we were this time last year?

Was going to ask the club if we would be facing a cap situation like we did in the Kewell year.

Numbers all 'round indeed!

Would be really good to see some proper membership numbers from Glory just for a change.
Big deal if we're struggling or whatever, other clubs seem able to provide current details with regular updates.
All we ever see is a nicely rounded 1,000 or 2,000 and so on.

Admittedly, most of our problems have probably been caused due to our habit of rounding anything in the office up or down, but how hard can this be?

 :d =d>

2k is the latest update, albeit dated 6th July - so no doubt a fair few more since then:

https://twitter.com/PerthGloryFC/status/618250922909569024

TBH Their communication of this info is vastly improved from a few seasons ago, so I can't say I'm not happy - it's quite pleasing infact. In some ways it's perfect for a club with a smaller base like Glory - they don't necessarily need a daily ticker like City, Victory and WSW, their update every milestone is just fine for me!

^Heads up Davo1985.

5 days on and updated stats stand at:

Melb City - 5,059
Victory - 18,398
Adelaide - 3,704
Newcastle - 285
Wanderers - 14,541
Perth - 2,000

Some big shakers and movers from Newcastle and City in the past 5 days...

Jets up 70 and City up 102. Gee they better get a move on if they want to get anything near what they got last season. I fear Newcastle will be lucky to even hit a few thousand at this rate.

I'd imagine (though I haven't checked) that Newcastle's memberships are going to cost a lot more this season. I'll be very impressed if they get anywhere near 5,000 members. If they can, the rest will be up to the football they produce to have any further growth.

Nice work City fans. Would not have expected 5000 this far out.
What were jets figures like last year? they might barely crack 1000 at this rate. Dont blame them though. After last season football would be a chore to go see.

The FFA have a duty to charge the same if not less than what was being charged last season, despite the losses they will incur. It's the only way they will be able to lift the club up from absolute ruin. How can they justify raising the fees after what transpired last season. It's not as if the FFA are even bringing in a high profile player to compensate. The FFA are sleeping in the clouds if they think crowds will turn up without incentivising members. The least they can do is keep the rates as is.

I disagree. It's the FFA's job to make the Newcastle Jets attractive to buyers. If that means raising membership prices to improve the financials then so be it. What are fans getting in return? Not having half the players getting sacked midway through the season. By paying for memberships, fans are also signalling to the FFA that they will support their A-league side and deserve to keep their spot in the A-league. The FFA seem to have learnt quite a bit about running a club over the past few years, I actually think they will do an alright job.

Yes they are in the market of selling the club, however prospective buyers will look at how many active members there are and if the club has gone from having 10k full season paying members down to 1k, i highly doubt that will look too appetising for a prospective buyer. On top of that, if you don't have a strong members base, then their crowds will suffer which will have an impact on the game day experience which could cause even fewer people attending games as a result due to lack of atmosphere etc. This of course will mean less $ coming through the gates. Again not a good look for any prospective buyer.

So no I don't think it's warranted for the FFA to raise prices at all. Perhaps once they get back some initial support and prove the club is getting back on its feet, then they will be in a much better place to slowly raise membership prices etc next season. But to do it this season would be diabolical. They are currently sitting on a few hundred memberships. Not a good look at all. Let's see where they end up.

It seems the memberships for jets start at $150 which really isn't that much. Less than $11 a game. They seem to be taking up the ticketing forward initiative as well for when members can't go to a game.

Seating seems a bit restrictive though.
