The national teams should be first ahead of any club or COE that is there, pick the best teams should be the number priority and then work from there.

Agree that the COE should not be in place but then again when Ron Smith was there it worked well when the age group 18 to 19 year olds, so maybe go back to that path?

With the a-league club having youth academies in place the players have the right to stay at home if the environment is good enough, but when Tony Vidmar says that not picking these other players because the COE players that took up scholarships that want to play for aus more than the guys that rejected the offers is just bullshit and we all know the politics that go round aus football.

The COE guys deserve some credit for wanting to reach the pro level but the national team is about choosing the BEST team and that should be the main priority.

What is going on is some of the A-League clubs have told the players that they will be better off with them and some of the players have taken that option. Now the CEO has a choice to take the players they have been working with that have moved to Canberra and will be very familiar with the desired playing style or leave them in the cold and select the players who decided not to take up a place.

If the game is on replay i guess we should watch the match and then make any sort of judgement but when the squad gets changed around like that with a different result then questions will get asked what is going on?

I didnt want to suggest any bias, just that some players had not accepted places at the CEO from last years squad so their places had been given to other players that i believed to be not quite at the same level. Now if you have given a CEO spot to a young player on the basis they will play for Australia then its probably only correct that you take him to the 1st tournament.

Lets relax and see how it evolves.

From winning 4-0 to a 1-1 draw is a not good sign and start given others teams will be stronger, cliveundies is right this squad might be weaker due to the bias from the coaches choosing the FFA COE players instead using the same team from last year whilst adding new players that have more quality on the table.
