As for the AFC qualifiers I am spewing not only because the family wont get to see my boy but now I have to spend more money to go to Vietnam #-o Haha what a shame he has to represent the country ;)

LOL.....Yeh got excited for a while when I thought I didn't have to pay for his football anymore. But very happy dad. Have to get the misses to work some overtime to pay for my trips :lol:

Congrats to all the young men & families who got into the squad! Wishing them all a great trip :d Just curious, does this squad automatically go to the AFC or does Vidmar hosts more trials for other lads, say who got injured in camps or younger kids?

AFF is for countries located in the ASEAN region of which we are apart. AFC tournament is entirely different and is open to all AFC countries for the right to play in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

What an amazing achievement - hope the misses has picked up a second job already ;) Secondly, that was what i believed but heard through the grape vines around the pitches that there was a trial in August? thought it would be odd to pick 1 team and then a month later possibly change it again :?

Thanks for that appreciate it.
I haven't heard of any trials in August. You would think that 5 x 3 day trials from Feb to June would be enough for now. I think there was about 50-60 kids trial all up and there were a few that were on stand by for this tournament. I would think that there may be more kids looked at, at the NTC challenge in December and club land before the final squad was offered scholarships for the AIS.
