Another good win. That would have been the toughest conditions the boys would played in. It would have been 40 degree out on the pitch. We were sweating sitting in the stands under cover. Anyway though to the finals looking forward to it.

Thanks mate.:)

I am now at the 17 minute mark of the last 40 minute of the second half shown on the replay.

Things look a lot better. The Joeys look a lot better with some continuity of footage.

I'm doing stats on the 1v1 contests for CBs as Clive thought they were struggling. ATM ht eCBs are dominating 1v1s, but it could all change.

I'm also counting shots on goal stats.

How did we play in this game?
It seems like the lads look like one of the teams to beat in this tournament.

It doesn't surprise they start to struggle with the conditions too.

Thanks for the info.

The worst heat and humidity I ever experienced was in Kuwaut at 38 degrees and 100% humidity. It was worse than 48 degres and dry. To just walk around in it was really tough, let alone play football.

The conditions were tough for the Joeys. Great to have you guys providing updates on the ground.:)

In the 39 minutes I watched the Joeys had 7 shots on goal to Myanmar's 1.

Out of 12, 1v1s contested, the Centre Backs won 11.

Out of 8, 1v1s contested, the Full Backs won 2.

The Joeys had a much greater proportion of the play than I thought in the last 39 minutes. They played better than I originally thought and wore Myanmar out.

I wouldn't judge to harshly playing in those conditions with very little break in-between games, its insane. Understandably the last 25 mins players were cramping up and it was very stop start. The first 2 games gave me a good indication of what these group of players are like.

After seeing the first 23 mins and the last 39, the Joeys had them on the ropes at the 23 minute mark. They were playing very well and were 3-0 up with another shot hitting the post and 2 others forcing fingertip saves .

At that stage they had 8 shots at goal to 1 for Myanmar.=d>

After watching the stream for the last part of the game before this first 23 mins, the tempo seemed very high at the beginning of the match.

Haven't seen the period between 23 minutes and 52 minutes, yet, but I'd evaluate them as playing well, particularly in the first 23 minutes.

Myanmar could not cope with how quickly the Joeys were moving the ball.

It's a game every two days up till the final. Spare a thought if a team makes the final from group A. They would have played an extra game.

Very entertaining to watch these young lads. Really impressed with the strikers and midfielders especially Brooks and Moric. Looking forward to seeing the gks and defenders challenged more. The quality of the other teams are not a high standard but that means these boys can showcase their technical ability and gain valuable confidence as the tournament progresses. Really good to see Moric there on ability not his surname.

I think we will see the tempo drop off in every game as it goes on. Playing 6 possible games in 11 days in normal conditions would be tough let alone here. It's not just on the pitch the battle is off the pitch. I few boys haven't been well and still playing. Weight loss has been a problem but in all that's football. Best thing I sense is not one off the boys are complaining. I guess that's why their in the team. Hats off to all off them and all family members and any Australian should be very proud off these boys.

Thanks.

Good to see what is occurring in other states.

Basically, we are all on the same page across Australia. In the past there was an issue with consistency of quality training. It was different across the country in an ad hoc way.

The naysayers claim we are producing clones. My counter argument is that I wouldn't mind clones of the quality of the Joeys pervading future playing ranks.:)

Somewhere I was searching for streams I saw that previous Under 16 Joey teams were beating the same opponents we are facing at this tournament by the same margins. However, the type of football must have been decidedly worse.

The only issue I've heard is that FNQ do not have anything that is operational in terms of SAP ATM.

I cannot remember which player was your son, but I've looked at 1v1s for the full backs and CBs in this last game, if you are interested.

It is nice to see theJoeys play the style of football they are. It should put the naysayers out of future discussion.

Our biggest issue in senior football is that even though the players are developing in almost every way, most have limited technique to go to the next level. This generation have the skills to go to that next level.
