The Scicluna brothers that play for Wolves, have both been named in the u19 Malta squad. Not sure about Lucas, but Dylan has played for us previously - back in November.

6 weeks to go and this is over an international break so I think Silvera would be good for this one. I'd say take some necessary veterans to Texas. I think we could forgo Bos for qualifying but he's got to be in the tournament proper.

Silvera is too old for the Olyroos unfortunately. This cohort of U23s is 2001-born or younger.

Ah damn. I saw the birth year 2000 but failed to do the math. Well, spurs on a Roo call up I think.

With a few A League cubs having their squad gutted, there's a lot of good talent we saw for each young national team. Some of the U23 can take a leading role while the U20 should really be playing more and even the best U17 should be out there. I don't see the point in bringing shabby imports or playing local deadwood.

It's annoying when these countries withdraw. North Korea seems to be a repeat offender. They should be suspended from future qualifying until they get they're shit sorted, would rather another minnow country get a chance instead.

Jacob Farrell has unfortunately had to withdraw from the Olyroos squad for the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 Qualifiers due to groin tightness. With the travel and nature of the camp it was decided that he will sadly miss the trip.

Good 11 to get started. A certain best Australian manager ever lost to Laos. I believe there was a follow up tv interview. Just get the job done here. I like that this group got to experience the Toulon tournament together.

60 sec later it's 2:0 with swift ball movement and a cut back for Villupillay to slot from near the penalty spot.

Twice now though we've turned it over at the back in build up. Cook just had to tip a very nicely played shot over the bar while the other time saw a quick Laos transition into space.

We needs to score as many goals just in case we lose against the host. There are no urgency but passing ball around and backwards. No one have ability to take on one on one. Frustrating football to watch in the first half by the lymroos.

7:1 win in the end. Need to be ready for hosts Tajikistan in 6 days. They play Laos before. Still some periods of the slow play on ball like in France.

Laos played with 10 men for over half an hour. Why don't just push forward with number to the box. Mostly pointless and predictable with too many passes. Ange modern football is how we should play.

Underway. This is where Australia played in qualifiers so it's the astroturf again I believe. Appears to be artificial grass.
