Forgot to mention that this needs to happen in every state not just COE.

Good to see Yeboah in there, he must be fit. yebaoh's been named in every squad since he moved. Don't think he's made it on the field once. Injured every single time he gets called up, but then he's only played a handful of matches in the past 2 years anyway, so he's basically permanently injured.

The sooner we start to implement full time training from at least 14 years old with overseas coaches and the best aust coaches the sooner we may bride the gap. We are already behind when it comes to junior participation compared to the rest of the world and our kids will never be able to hang out in the streets and play all day. When your the same size same speed but technical and tactically advance 6/0 it is. Well at least we have to give credit for the FFA who are trying to fix this in the whole of football plan. They want to reach at least 500 elite players per age group, with the help of a-league academies and the schools working together so in the end the kids can train like the Euro counterparts in terms of volume of training we just need to continue to improve our coaching system which has come a long way but still much work is to be done. From my knowledge in Holland and other countries like France and Belgium, the elite clubs train the players along with the schools and some elite football schools like the Clairfontaine where the best kids receive additional training so in the end they train their kids 6 to 8 times per week, unlike here at best they train 3 to 4 times per week, perhaps it explains why the Europeans are ahead of us. Clearly 24 elite players is not enough if we compare to high level football nations, let's be serious. And in the meantime maybe we should curb our expectations? It's not like we are going to win a world cup anytime soon unlike some of the skeptics who are still stuck in the old days. Put it this way we are climbing the mountain coming from a low base 5 years ago, patience and evaluating the current structures should be aim for the FFA.

France game we look very poor.
However, people need to understand that they are one of the current leaders at youth level in recent times.
Especially at Under 19 and Under 17 Level
2015 Under 19 European Championships 1. Spain 2. Russia 3. France
2015 Under 17 European Championships 1. France 2. Germany 3. Russia

lukerobinho wrote:Is Australian youth football in trouble ? Bloody hell. Look I know it's a work in progress and all that but if these are the best blokes we have then we've got some work to do or we need to cast the net wider. Forget technique for just a minute and watch the video from the 2.32 to 2.36 mark. 4 unmarked Frenchies run into the box plus another bloke behind making a total of 5. First of all they're almost all unmarked, secondly, they're out numbered and thirdly they're all ball watching. Old mate that scored could've have laid it off square to 3 other players who could have had a cup of tea and then scored. For all the talk about playing out from the back, composure, triangles etc, which are technique based, these errors above are a absolute joke which have nothing to do with technique and everything to do with not having a clue. Either the coaches are shit or the players aren't listening. The third goal is just as woeful. Forget the shit pass, fine, these things happen but the centre back compounds the error by committing himself, when the ball carrier was covered, and leaving his man unmarked to receive an easy layoff. Just terrible. Or perhaps they had an off day. Let's hope so. As an aside those French blokes sure can place a ball well when they're shooting.

This squad is almost identical to the one that didn't perform very very in the USA last December . Let's see how much this squad changes for the World Cup.
My bet is not much if at all because they coaches , TDs etc haven't looked at enough other kids outside the ais program for the last two years.
I have also be reliably informed that during the last NTC state challenge (dec 2104) the coaches where away with this team in the USA and didn't even look at the state trails. That's the biggest joke in the world and so unprofessional . Not to mention bringing in local Canberra based player get bing a scholarship prior to trails for other lads. Transparency is non exsistant

It was hard to see the ball in the video! Thanks though for the link. It is like a home movie. No wonder FFA don't post this on the website. Edited by Decentric: 25/9/2015 12:19:54 AM

Quote:Young Socceroos Squad named for AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers Young Socceroos Head Coach Paul Okon has named his 23 player squad for the upcoming AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers which will be held at the National Sports Complex Stadium, Vientiane, Laos. Okon has selected 15 players from Hyundai A-League clubs, 4 from PlayStation 4 NPL clubs and 4 overseas-based players. Okon is confident that this group of players are up to the challenge of qualifying for the AFC U-19 Championship. “This is the start of this group’s World Cup journey. “It will be a difficult challenge, especially with Japan in our group. “We have had a number of camps and training matches together and the boys know the type of football we want to play. “The challenge now is to perform under tournament conditions,” concluded Okon. The Young Socceroos will open their campaign against the Philippines on Friday 2 October, then Laos on Sunday 4 October and finally Japan on Tuesday 6 October. Ten group winners and five best second-placed teams will qualify for the AFC U-19 Championships while hosts Bahrain received an automatic qualification (total 16 teams). The top 4 teams from the AFC U-19 Championship then qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2017 in the Korea Republic.
