These people should be sent to prop up declining regional centres short of labour. I'm sure these people have valuable skills and trades that could be used throughout the country.

Whilst a fine sentiment most regional centres have far higher unemployment rates then metropolitan centres. There may be some regional towns looking for workers (fruit pickers etc) most aren't.

Perhaps, I couldn't quote statistics for you. These people would also create a demand for services and they have to live, eat etc. I just take issue with sending them to a city like Sydney with a massive housing shortage and ridiculous prices. As someone said earlier, a ghetto is what you'd expect. Can't they at least spread them out a bit more?

The other issue is facilities to settle these folk. You don't just dump them somewhere and walk away. There's a shitload of people behind the scenes working with these refugees. I'm not saying it's impossible just harder than bunging most of them in Sydney.

I guess Sydney might be the best place to support them from with regard to training and support etc.

Regional centres would be great provided there is enough employment to support them.

Public Transport and infrastructure in Sydney is bursting at the seams...i dont have a problem with resettlement, but to just plonk most of them in the most densely populated city in Australia is just plain fucking dumb

Settle them in Mosman for the lulz
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

It'd be so nice to live in an intellectual vacuum where logical, rational thought processes don't apply like some here.
