Agree with sentiment. We have also of registered mods. Just not many ever visit here anymore.

Then you have mods in active threads were idiots are talking about all the fully sick ultras violence they will do if they can organise a meeting to punch on.....??

You can blame mods if you like, demand new mods all you like, accuse some of allegiance, some of over reacting, some of not reacting hard enough - but the bottom line is, it is the behaviour of the posters that is fundamentally at fault here.

And there are few that are not tarred with that brush. Even OP in this thread admits he's been part of the problem - then complains about it and announces he quitting.

It is your reactions to one another that is causing the problem, not the mods. There is only so much they can do. They mod too hard, you complain. They mod with a lighter touch, you complain they're not hard enough.

This forum is what you guys make it. If you choose to make it feral, there's only so much the mods can do about that - and as such there's only so much I can do about it other than shut it down altogether.

Alternatively you could all try taking a few deep breaths before you rush to reply to someone, or start a new thread, or a new multi.

Otherwise, pretty soon it's going to be one guy talking to himself – or you'll just get a 404 error when you next try to access it.

Nearly everyone has been guilty of trolling or going off topic sometimes, i dont think that's what the original poster was talking about. Banter is fine in small doses, but its the constant one upping, hate of a certain poster so they just troll what ever they say or the really bitter pathetic posts that are just there to cause trouble and get a reaction which is the problem.

Ive seen plenty of it even after this thread was created and mods have done nothing, pala seems like he does all the work around here lately, while the others you rarely even see, we just need a couple new volunteers that are on here on a regular basis to help out.

Some ppl just need to harden the fuck up

Ever since the forum got separated from the articles on the webpage, the community has been consistently shrinking. Without a constant stream of new members the group is stagnating, tension between members is rising, and conversation is becoming more stale. I think if we don't actually link it back to the site then eventually these forums will just fizzle out.

Spot on the money there. That moment could be seen as the downfall more than anything, now it's just the same people bickering over the same things again and again. It's moved from a place where anyone can come in and voice their opinion to now resembling a schoolyard.

Thats a shame. I always liked coming here more than just going to team specific forums because you had multiple fans across epl and a-league with there point of view. Big events like Berishas Grandfinal dive would go on for weeks on end. It was fun.

I have met a few people on here and they have all been good guys. Still run into Scouse Roar by accidnet nearly every time Im in brisbane.

For me, the current pool of posters on the whole is ok, but it is the deluge of multis that is choking this place.
There not even clever multis that question or provoke discussion.

They are sad parodies of people trying to get a cheap argument because trolling is cool lulz.

They have become more frequent lately and we cant expect Erebus, Pala and Joffa to be here all the time.
This is the only reason I think we need more mods was to stem this crap trend.

But KA has a point some of these crap multis are existing posters that want to play a character just to attack/troll other people.

I think I'm on record as saying many posters who disagree with positions I've taken have made valid points. The fact people express different views on football, including you, are the foundation for constructive discussion. It is why I participate on 442.

Hopefully, the only thing I'm dogmatic about are the tenets the FFA NC is based on and the practices we have adopted in Australia to improve our football.

There are a a couple of guys who come hard at me over defending a few things who have a had a long association in football. I may appreciate their perspectives, but they may not appreciate mine because in these particular issues I may have a more persuasive position than they would like.

I admit I have taken a strident stand against the phenomenon of Eurosnobism.

I have also learnt that I've been wrong and have had obsolete information on certain scenarios in leagues around the world.
