For me personally, all the unnecessary nudity/sex actually turned me off the show. If it was actually relevant for the story then sure, but just randomly having characters stand around naked for 5 minutes while they talk isn't necessary at all. If they had toned it down, or used implied sex then I would have kept watching it.

I'm sure that is an extremely unpopular opinion though.

I'll always remember what my boss said to me, when I brought up Game of Thrones as a discussion topic over a beer after work one evening.

"I tried to watch it, I really did. My housemate and I sat down, and started watching the first episode. I got 5 minutes in, and then there was a dwarf having a threesome, and that was it for me. I couldn't take it anymore. I didn't spend $40 on a TV series to watch Dwarf Porn, I can do that for free online!".

I encourage you and others to read the latest scholarship on the issue. Nothing about reperations was crippling.
