PREDICTIONS

Adelaide v WSW - 14,500 (they really should be selling this out on the champions home debut)
SFC v CCM - 17,500 (Derby win should see this be bumped up + hopefully 500-1k CCM fans coming down for the early kickoff)
Victory v City - 47,000 (the big unknown, will it sell out? Seats are out so can fit in 53,000 if needed. Hopefully Timmy hype sells the remaining 8-10k tickets or so)
Jets v Roar - 10,000 (slight increase on today. Think Bathurst hurt the Jets crowd a bit)
Glory v Welly - 11,000 (fine weather in Perth predicted so hopefully a lot bigger than this weekend. Got 9,500 in the wet + competition with NBL so hopefully a big bumper crowd on a family-friendly Sunday arvo)
= EXACTLY 100,000

Surely that's possible. And I'd hope Adelaide sell out the place and Sydney get closer to 20,000.

Let's wait and see. Topping 100,000 would be another huge statement.

I definitely think we should get near 100k.

Adelaide surely getting 13-14
Sydney should be 17
Derby 45 plus
Jets 10-11
Perth 12-14

Very optimistic but I think it will happen...weather pending:

Adelaide - 14.5k - wsw travel well, first home game of season for defending champs... believe this should sell out. Room for more...
Sydney - 18k - that derby win! Traveling fans... could be 20 honestly.
Derby - 47.5k - no reason this won't sell out....
Jets - 11k - good showing today, no bathurst, not much of a stretch on this weeks total.
Perth - 14k - expected 15k for round 1 but the rain played a huge part , still scored 3 goals and created heaps of chances... no reason for fans not to return.

= 105k

Sneaky for a new record

Weather meant to be about 23 and perfect on Friday here in Adelaide.
No excuse to not get a minimum 13.5k and should really be more like 14.5k

Will be interesting to see how the public reacts. We are obviously champions but I feel the moos is a little reserved given the state of our squad. Our lack of depth is going to hurt us massively. Anyway....no excuses for the crowd is my point.

Interesting re a 7:20pm kick off too. That bit of extra time helps people on a Friday night.

Fair to say this weekend is Yoshi Cahill's first real test; a business as usual aggregate attendance will be 90k-ish, a more than decent improvement will be 100k, and a stella result will be a new round aggregate record.

Yeah, I agree here. Usually we would get good crowds for this round but a real test is to get great ones.

Reds/WSW should be 15k, Sydney should be nudging 20k, Glory should be 12-13k and the Derby should be 50k

Get that and we'll go close to last weekend.

Would be great to get 2 back to back 100k rounds, which as far as I know has never happened. But realistically it will probably be just under (95k).

The real wildcard for me is the Sydney game, they could get 15k or maybe 25k who really knows, would be great to know the PAX so far.

Who would of thought that we would have a team with an average crowd attendance of just under 62k ☺️, this will surely bump WSW up for the whole season dramatically

No chance of 25k, 20k may have been a chance if it was the 7:30pm k/o not the 5:30. I reckon we're looking at 15-17k anything above would be very good. Hope I'm wrong and we smash the 20k mark, there's a great team to come and watch!

What's the docklands capacity when the seats are in football mode? Is 50k even possible? I had this idea that the capacity drops down to something like 46-48k but honestly I'm hungover

I can't help but feel everyone is being a tad too optimistic, which will take away from what would actually be a good result for the round:
Adelaide V WSW: 12-14k
SYD V CCM: 15-18k
Victory V City: 44-46k
Newy V Brisbane: 10-12k
Glory V Nix: 10-12k
Im sorry but Sydney aren't breaking 20, I'm a Sydney fan but I have no faith in our early kickoff crowds nor do I have faith in mariners away support. I think the draw last week will of slowed down ticket sales for adelaide as well, and with the derby it has never broken 45k and the Cahill effect is kinda diminished if he plays in the Socceroos game. I wouldn't be surprised though if Newy and Perth pulled off a massive crowd though.

I'd say 14k for the GF rematch.
Syd CCM 17.5K
Victory City 43k
Newy Bris 10k
Glory Nix 10k

Neither the Jets nor Glory will increase their first round crowds, not by much at least. With the Socceroos taking all the attention away from teh Melbourne derby I reckon it will be one of their lower crowds. Sydney won't get more than 18 for an afternoon match though our early season form might help.

No chance, Cahill factor + first derby of the season. Seats are out will get similar numbers to the Socceroos. Expecting 48k

ATM the top bays are basically empty the whole way around. Cant see it being filled that much more before saturday. For me 48 is still possible, but looks unlikely.

Not quite true. If you look closer at the individual seats that are free the wings are pretty full all the way up to the third tier. For the rest of the third tier its only really the upper half in some sections that are still empty. Crowd will be solid.

6,700 seats free as of 12:30pm today. Still this arvo/night, Thursday, Friday and Saturday of selling time and extra Timmy buildup to shift the rest.
Place holds 53,000 in AFL mode (like it will be on Saturday), 45,700 allocated as it stands with Medallion included. Say 2,000 empty seats in medallion on the night and 43,700 sold as it stands. Take out 1,000 empty Victory member seats are we're around 42,700 as it stands.

If we sell the remaining 6,7000 seats, it'll be 50,000.

I think it will be something like this:

Roar - Victory 13.5k
Nix - City  7k
WSW - Sydney  62k
Perth  Mariners  11k
Jets  United  10.5k

Total  =  104k

That would still be a record I believe by some margin. Anything over 100k would be a great result, but also importantly would be if all 4 of the other games got good crowds individually as well. 5 figures for all other matches other than Nix and City which no doubt will pull an NPL type crowd on a grand final appearance.

Wasn't far off, only 2k. The Roar game surprised me a bit and the Perth game would have hit 11k easily if it wasn't their unusual bad weather over in Perth. I imagine when the weather is bad over there, most wouldn't bother going anywhere.

I agree with everything you have said except for the last sentence.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there will be a bit of a drop for teams playing back to back. And seeing as both Newy and Perth played at home (neither of which won) last week, there will be fans and members that will have chosen to go to the first game and instead do something else this weekend. We'll see but I wouldn't be surprised if Newy plays in front of around 9k and Perth get the same figure of last weekend. Perth has potential to get 13k+ in my opinion but it's unlikely when playing back to back and against opposition like Wellington which for many casual fans is not that exciting.

Fair point regarding the back to back games. The weather forecast for all games this weekend appears to be perfect, so can be no excuses there.

Here's to hoping with another huge round attendance.

Don't forget that Ice Age is screening pre Sydney - CCM mariners game.

I'm predicting 28k ;)

I remember not too long ago the Mariners had great away support at the SFS. Last few times there have been less than 30 fans in the away bay.
